PC Build Problems

Im building a PC for my brother and have stuck everything in. Now when i try to start it, all the fans start up and the motherboard light comes on but i am getting no video output. Usually i guess u would be able to get some idea of what the problem could be by listening to the system beeps, but it didnt come with any pc system speaker. It all leaves me thinking that the graphics card is fooked but im not sure. Does anyone have any ideas?

Ok Try this, i remember a while back when i was upgrading kit, I was getting the same issue basically what you need to do is reset the JP1 Jumper setting on your board this will reset your CMOS and clear any video memory and reset it.

I hear you ask how the feck do i do this, see if you can find a manual or locate the jumper on your motherboard it should look like this

PIN = .

[. .] .
----- JP1 < Jumper Setting 1 OR JBAT

Basically what you need to do is follow these simple steps

1. Turn off your PC and unplug all your USB devices, including printers, etc, make sure you have your mouse and keyboard plugged in tho.

2. Make sure your System is turned off, but is plugged into the mains.
Dont turn the main wall socket off, just make sure the pc is off and the power supply is connected.

3. Ok see the above picture, there are usually 3 pins on a jumper setting, 1, 2, 3 as you can see the first 2 pins are selected it looks like this [1.2]3 , What you need to do is change this to this

[1.2]3 > 1[2.3] Move the [ . ] across so pin 2 & 3 are now selected, once you have done this count to 20 seconds and move the pin back to [1.2]3 , connect your video cable and switch on, green light baby.

PM ME IF YOU NEED HELP, ALSO CHECK THIS

On the last computer I built I had the same sort of problem, turned out I had the heatsync on the wrong way round. Swapped it round and it booted up first time, could be worth a try.
