So I've recorded the first installment of a series of mixes I'm doing for my 'Metropolitan Tranny Authority' DJ project.
The series is called 'GENREF/CK', which for those of you who don't know is a play on the word 'genderfuck', which is a conscious effort to subvert traditional gender norms. It's long been a goal of mine as a DJ to break down the walls of musical genres too, and so my 'Genref?ck' was born. I'd like to think it features a pretty edgy mixing style, with plenty of custom edits and mashups.
This mix is kind of an introduction to my new project, and an introduction to me, personally. This is a pretty representative slice of my musical brain and soul. And in opposition to my last mix, which was borne out of a rough patch in my life, this mix is celebratory, fun, and dance-oriented - like my live DJ sets. It's also kind of about this crazy city I live in, by proxy, and its recent history.

Do you still have your own hosting? I'd love to listen to this at work but of course, Soundcloud is blocked. Looks like a diverse and interesting selection of music, I've noticed some transgendered artists in there as well. Always up for hearing "Tears" again too, one of my all-time faves.

FYI I just re-uploaded the mix to remove some dead space at the beginning of the recording and to remove a nasty skip i forgot about and some pops.
