Hopefully by the beginning of May the war will be rectified, SARS will be cured, and normal spring weather will be working. Therefore you should get your ass to what could be the best DARKRAVE yet.

This will also mark the beginning of extended DARKRAVE hours. Now you can party until 6am!

Shame that most people here are obsessed with the big superstar DJs. This event is likely to generate little hype on this board.

Having said that, I may ditch my AvB date to see some harder local talent that's right around the corner from me. That is, if my friends will veer away from the big club environment.

wow, this looks like a great party. I'm seriously considering checking this out. Just want to know how many TAs are going to this one. Should be a lot of fun, wish there were some more psy and goa played. If I can convince some of my buddies to hit this one up with me I'd definately be there.

I went to v.38 this last weekend. It was not as good as the previous one but I still had a lot of fun. Some tracks were awesome but for the most part I found that there was too much 'filler' music (it's like you're waiting for the next tune to blow the place up and it just doesn't happen - ehh I dunno how to describe it). I found the crowd even more 'dark' than during the previous time. But there's no prob with that. It was cool when at about 4am they started playing tunes aka 'diesel power' by prodigy. Those rocked.

Overall this is a really cool event and I highly encourage TA's to attend! The more the friendlier!

The only shit for me is that I have exams on the 5th and on the 6th of May. How the fuck should I study on the 4th if I go to this one???????

Looking good, I think I'll be up for it. Though TEC is the day before, not sure if I can go to both or which to decide on if I can't.

Anyway - don't fret about the lack of TA hype, I think all the reviews of these have been good so far so the TA presence should grow.

Lets get at least 5 to 10 TAs going and we can have a pre-meet and then go party. I've been dying to go to a darkrave event for quite some time.

The Reverb Room (roughly the size of SystemSoundbar)is always packed, The Kathedral room has like 15-20 ppl in it, the Downtempo room is also packed, and there's another room which they use for marketing - such a waste of space IMHO, they should play jungle there!
Without ID, hmm they checked mine the last 2 times. I dunno, at your own risk just like anywhere.

This DARKRAVE is going to blow the lid off the the entire Big Bop building. I know that there are going to be many new faces this month because of the hype I have read on various message boards and the solid lineup with the Chills DJ Hit Squad. This means that we may be at capacity very quickly, so if you are serious about attending this event please get there early to avoid dissappointment. This month will be the DARKRAVE debut of Dr.Trance, who some consider the godfather of trance in Toronto. This man was one of the first people to bring trance rave sounds to the Toronto area. For those who were around in the 80's you may remember him as Don Berns from CFNY. He was an on air personality throughout most the 80's. The Chills DJ Hit Squad are one of the most talented DJ collectives in the city and are a cool bunch of heathens to boot. Ask Mark Grimace for a FREE bong. He likes it when you talk dirty to him.

Not true.. for me anyway.. its hard to find darker stuff on p2p networks... so i get all i can get... but im not 19.. if i was.. id go.

Generally it is true that it really does not start getting busy til 12am or so but the downstairs area by the Chills Squad will get just as packed as the main room is usually. So it is just a sugestion to arrive early. If you do not want to don't, its all good. I am looking forward to playing some great new Psy that I just got. Hope to see you out there.

Parking at Queen St West adn Portland or on Queen if you are lucky to find a spot. You can also possibly park on Richmond St.

DR. Trance is on from 2am-4am.

I will try and post a DJ schedule this afternoon if I have time.

Oi! For those who didn't go - you missed an awesome party.. It was my first darkrave and I will be going to the future events for sure!! Darkrave could have been an awesome TA event (if more than 6 TAs showed up, lol). None the less, the party was stellar!

I'm too tired to post a full commentary now, so I'll do it tomorrow (mon) check back then!

Hey, Lazaurus - if you're the guy who organizes these events than I owe you a beer the next party.. Me and those TAs who were there loved the event!
