Poll:Which Matrix?

Which Matrix film have enjoyed better?

Posted by hardtymes on May-19-2003 20:17:

they were both awesome but i still think that the first Matrix is #1 ,... you just can't beat the best!

I'll be back to vote for this pole.

Just seen Reloaded, but I need to see it a couple times more to be able to choose

ya, I was told by many people that seeing the movie once isn't enough.

me and my boyfriend saw matrix reloaded the night it came out...we were really excited to see it. i have to say it was really good but i still think the the first matrix was better. some of the scenes were insane especially the highway scene- but for some reason they just didn't get me the way they did in the first one. i wasn't disappointed by the movie at all i just expected it to blow me away like the first one but it fell alittle short...but what can i say...the original matrix was a hard movie to top, but i'd have to say if i didn't already see the original matrix then reloaded would have blown me away...like hardtymes said above "you just can't beat the best!"

Yeah I feel the same way, I mean it's like Rage Against The Machine's first album - fucking brilliant, but how are you ever going to even match that?

As for the movie itself, my roomate and I both think it's more of a set-up for Matrix Revolutions instead of a movie in itself. I mean sure, some things made it unique (the architect scene, the meaning of the Rave/sex scene, etc...), but as a whole I don't think it really stands by itself. It's more of a first half to Matrix Revolutions.

***possible spoilers ahead***

Oh and here's what we think about the rave/sex scene - Trinity is actually the mother of the matrix, and being this goddess-like figure, whatever she feels filters out to the masses (same thing with Neo - whatever he feels the people around him feel as well). So when she's with Neo, the people get all horny and the music is already playing, so they just get up on each other without having an all-out orgy.

Ohh and there's a few more parts that support our argument of Trinity being the mother of the matrix, the only one of which I can remember atm is in a trailer for Revolutions (I think it was for revolutions, it might have been reloaded, not sure...if you go back and see the trailer for reloaded after watching the movie you'll see like 2 or three scenes taken from revolutions as they weren't in the original or reloaded). Anyways....look at the trailer and in it Trinity says something to the effect of "If you don't give me Neo now we all die, right here, right now." Not sure on the actual wording but you get the gist. You have to wonder what kind of power she has if she can make everyone die whenever she feels like it.

Ohh and I think that Trinity is a reference to Kahlan from the Sword of Truth series, but that's another story.

Interesting, but I think your off.

***Spoiler Ahead***

The archetict is actually the mother of the matrix. Cause he is the one who has created all 6 different versions as he stated in the movie. Trinity is a human who is free from the matrix, but she has no actual ties to the matrix. The whole point about the matrix is that its a digital world. Humans have been sedated and kept under the power of the matrix. because the digital world is so real, we as humans cant distinguish it. The archetict is the one who built the matrix. This is because the matrix cannot build itself spontaneously, it needs a human host to create. However, all 6 versions of the matrix have and anomoly, which is in the form of neo. When humans are sleeping they are very vunrable, and because of this we can't fight anything, and this is the only way the matrix can keep control on us. Like they said in the movie, its all really about control. It was also mentioned that the other versions of the matrix(being it is a program) failed because they were far too glitchy. I could tell you the whole thing about the matrix, so if ya want send me a pm and i will. I hope this clears up some things.

I agree with u . I think Revolutions will have the power to be more exciting and epic than the first Matrix .. Matrix 2 is a "transition" movie.. No doubt, I will still enjoy it when I'll watch it .

new ones not out here yet....

Posted by N|te-L|fe on May-23-2003 17:15:

They are both good but If I really have to choose I'd go with Reloaded.

The setup is pretty similar to LOTR's... First movie sets the table with a strong storyline, explaining the concept, and the second one is filled with action and meant to catch the eyes..

so they each have their strong points but I like the continuity and how they manipulated the idea of living in a virtual world in the second

original by a mile

first one was a classic, and this one IMO was good but nothing special.

it is now, i though it was better

Special effects were amazing in the second one, but I understood what was going down in the first. So I gotta say the original wins...

Posted by daydreamer on May-29-2003 16:21:

reloaded. really like the highway seen.

Posted by digitalbreach on May-30-2003 17:23:

I guess I was just so hyped about the 2nd one and it delivered
so I go for the 2nd one....took storyline to a new level w/ that architect
i agree w/ it being a transition sequel
cheers

Actually the archetict had an indirect roled in the first. because agent smith had already informed the viewer that there was more than one matrix, it was somewhat obvious that there had to be a person creating all these different matrixes.

Lightbulb Reloaded

I liked the 2nd one better because it made me think so much more, it brought up so many more questions, the first one had a lot of deep philosophical issues but the second one had even more anomalies.

the original

mad!

Posted by Disney on Jun-08-2003 19:31:

Ok, I watched Reloaded for the second time and it was great, but i'm gonna go with the first Matrix!

You stole my reason!

The new matrix was fantastic but i enjoyed the first one more as it was a newer concept and had more mystery about whereas the second one was a sequal with lots of action, both were great films i just preffered the firs one a little more
