P.Diddy feat Kelis - Let's Get I'll #1 song on z103

this isn't your average "i just heard this song on z103 thread"

this song is #1!!! i mean i know it's p.diddy but you would expect a trance track to be #1 not a funkyish prog house track..

i think it's pretty awesome anyways cause i dig this track

Well that's what happends when you take good Progressive and mix it with Pop music....
I really hope this isn't the new fad

the track is alllllright.. what actually pisses me off is Benny Benassi - Satisfaction (greece dub mix) being overplayed on 103 that song rocked and now I hear it so much i'm getting sick of it.

How are you hearing it so much? I haven't touched the radio in soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long....ever since I started listening to better music. I didn't even know they were playing "PvD's - Nothing But You" until it was posted on here.

Oi...first we had Oakenfold doing rap shit...now we have P. Diddy (the criminal scum that he is) doing trance/house/whatever you want to call it. I haven't heard this, but i bet it's crap.

I just wish producers would stick to the genre that they're known for for fuck sake!

The day Tiesto gets in with some rap/hip hop producer is the day I stop listening to him. Though, I have faith Tijs knows where to draw the line.

i totally disagree. why do you want to stick a producer into one category and leave him there? so what if someone wants to make a house record, and a trance record, and a techno record, etc etc. fuck, more respect to people who can produce multiple records across a variety of genres!

sometimes i cant believe the attitude on this board. should dance music really be so exclusive that only people in 'the scene' should have the privilege of listening to it? who cares if the track is on the radio...obviously people like it, so more power to puffy and deep dish for making the track, regardless of their motives ($$).

personally, i think the track is garbage, but it really seems to do well in the clubs. just give it a few weeks of airplay (8 times/day maybe?) and it will die off like the rest.

heh actually i NEVER listen to the radio either, but everyday when I go to the gym, SAME TIME around 5:00pm they play Benni B- Satisfaction on 103.5 over the gym speakers.. drives me NUTS!@!@

the 9 @ 9 had PVD's overhyped track and Darude's Music in the top 5

i personally hate when they play electronic music on a top 40 or hip hop radio stations. i havent heard this track "lets get ill" and i hope i never do cause it will prob. make me puke. p. diddy has nothing to offer electronic music besides drugs and violence.....he cant even produce a hip hop track without stealing somebody elses beats. i think mtv should have a celebrity death match....Tiesto vs. P.Diddy. ill put my money on Tiesto but ill prob. lose it when p.diddy pulls out his gat.

well this track is actually pretty good...maybe cos its a deep dish production...give it a listen

as for electronica on top 40?? well thats the only way some electronica can be heard by the conforming masses...i think more electronica (maybe lesss cheesier than wat they play now) should be played on these dance radio stations

Couldn't agree with you more. I've also noticed a lot of bad, elitist attitude on this board, I don't think it's from the majority, but still it's there.

How am I an elitist? Because I don't want to see a loser like P. Diddy, who has had his hands involved in who fucking knows what kind of crime (drugs, murders), messing around in the electronica genre? I heard that he and PvD hugged each other at Space a few months ago in Miami. That's.....repulsive to even think about them working together. I hope they're just friends and that's it.

I don't mean someone like Tiesto should JUST stick to trance, but he should stay in electronica. Would you REALLY want to see a famous trance/house Dj become a rock star or a rapper and mix the genres? Would you REALLY want to see someone like 50 cent infuse his shit rap with dance music and become an all star Dj? Think about it. This is kinda what Diddy wants...he has the money and fame, but he wants the love and admiration that superstar Dj's have because it's more underground and not so much about the money (at least not AS much). I read this in an interview last summer before this track was even produced.

It's best that we don't get outside influences into the electronic genre. The more massively identifiable icons become a part of electronica, the more interest the big corporations will have in our genre because they can exploit it and make money. I know this has happened to a certain degree, but for the most part, trance/house/techno are all still mainly underground in North America. It's best that the North American record companies stay the fuck away from our industry.

I just don't want to see it get completley mainstream. Then we'll have even more losers and posers at the parties....

it might have revolved around drugs in the past, when everyone said electronic music was rave or techno. But now I find that the hardcore drug users are the in the minority. I'd agree if I knew that most people didn't do drugs @ parties.. and whats really a shame is that thats not the truth. Still most people I meet at places like system are hopped up on something. I've been going to live events for a while and not ever have done E or anything, simply becuase I dont have the urge to do it. THough more and more people are going to events simply becuase of the music, i'd have to say the majority still go cuzz they wanna get f*cked up.

maybe true at smaller events.....but I'm talking about when the Superstar Dj's like Tiesto, Ferry, Armin and PvD come. Were you there for Tiesto last December? The WHOLE crowd, at least 2000 people, were chanting his name when he came on and just going nuts! Most people stuck around for the whole thing too...I know a lot of them are posers, but I would definitely say that most of the people who go to big Goldclub events go for the Dj.

no I wasn't living in t.o last december, I was actually in Dallas texas, oh yea crazy party seen there .. True enough though when people go to a large party such as that. At iDream it seemed like everybody was doing alright, but I swear if you asked them who or where, or how to spell AVB's name they'd get it wrong. iDream was really odd, there was loads of people there for show, but when AVB came on I swear half the place emptied out at 4AM. Big events like that have less drugs use? hrmm maybe I guess. To be honest the only time where I felt little to no drugs were being used was at revival for Sasha! .. that goldclub event, anybody remember that? and it seemed like more of a mature crowd too.

I haven't had a chance to hear it but will download it just for the hell of it.

i disagree. i think the people that are there for the music are in the minority. drugs are a HUGE part of the scene! anyway, we're opening up a whole new can of worms here, so i will just leave it at that.

I have to agree with DJ Smitty20.

Electronica is quickly becoming a culture more than anything else. But only in the coming years will we see if it truely becomes follows that path, since drugs alone cannot support it indefinitely.
