Great TWILO Pic :(

This was taken by my friend DJ Glenn B at the 6 yr anniversary. He opened for Digweed & Tenaglia. Historical night, tremendous. Diggers & Tenaglia were tag teaming for an hour. That was my last time at Twilo. April 14, the night after PVD's 2 yr anniversary.

I danced under that beautiful ball for the past 4 yrs & now its officially ovah. 4 yrs of amazing memories. Twilo was more than just a club it was my 2nd home & my life. I've been in denial for the past 6 wks, thinking it would reopen after the court date June 21st.

Recently, the cabaret license was revoked & now the disco ball is on ebay. It's up to $1,500. This is a HUGE loss to the NYC club community. Twilo is a legend, world renouned, on the forefront/cutting edge of electronic music, w/out a doubt the best club in the U.S. Mayor Guilani's term is over in Jan...another club may reopen under diff name but it will never be the same.

Twilogoddess, is Twilo for real closing? Anybody seen Mauro Picotto's headsets on ebay ? Sad thing on Ebay from what I've heard, Elian Gonzlea's inner tube that he floated it was on sell on EBay.

maybe i'll buy the sofas from the upstairs lounge.. lots of memories
'best club in the U.S.' is debatable, but it is up there, top 5 somewhere. I'm just thankful that i was there for pvd's best set ever, his last set at twilo. pic doesn't do it justice, but then, nothing short of reopening the doors would. too bad there are still millions of ppl out there that never got to experience 'twiloism'... i now have no reason to go up to nyc, at least not for parties. maybe i can start a petition to have pvd be a resident at buzz.. haha.

I don't think management made any bad decisions. They were under a microscope by Giuilani and the press, and they were waiting for the slightest mistake to take them down. He even publicly stated it.

Its tragic that the government in the US has such incredible power of censorship. Its a blatent misuse of power, that caberet law...

I'm happy I went out at the beginning of March to see Twilo (and Tiesto @ Limelight). The phazion still ranks as the best sound system I have ever heard, the vibe was incredible, the people really knew their music. One of a kind, legendary.

Dammit! I've always wanted to go to Twilo and see PvD or Sasha+Digweed but now I won't ever get the chance... From what you guys are saying it must have been the coolest experience...it is really too bad me as well as millions of others will never get to feel that experience.

PVD's last performance was PHENOMANAL. It was my last time there unfortunately. I think its sad that clubs like tunnel remain open and Twilo is closed. Twilogoddess is right, it will never be the same. But, i'm praying they even reopen under a different name. AS long as the "twilo vibe" remains alive..

My shout goes out to the Twilogoddess....too bed for you..it's happene to me too..although they weren't clubs..but locations where the kelwest parties were given...my two favourite halls in Amsterdam and Rotterdam That sux big time..so I feel for you Twilo! (hope I didn't put down any strange sentences)

Yea! definitely...but it would have been cool to see him at Twilo...plus the driving distance is way shorter...oh well...

Twilo had the best lineup in the U.S & the best system. Every DJ wanted to play at Twilo b/c of the system. Sasha has said that the Phazon system is the best in the world. This pic is from the DJ's point of view. I was actually standing right behind him in the booth. Ferry Corsten was gonna make his first NYC debut June 1st & AVB was scheduled for October.

Life w/out Twilo is boring & miserable, which is why I'm goin to Ibiza for a month. To see PVD at Amnesia Sept 6th & the closing parties.

i'll concede the lineup, but buzz is improving on that.
i think the music has to be same to compare systems fairly, tho. listened to both, both are good. i wouldn't say either one 'blows' the other away, plus the physical layout of the club factors in too.
ghetto, thuggy? from what i've seen, it's just diff style. 'rave gear' is more prevalent in ny, while we're more likely to wear sweat pants. but that doesn't mean buzz atmosphere is bad.
in the end, music is the reason i went up to twilo, and if pvd came to buzz, i'd bet u guys would all come down. i think most ppl follow the dj, not the club, right? i mean, if pvd was at tunnel (heaven forbid), i'd make the 4hr trip again.
ANYWAY, twilogoddess, i feel your pain. fond memories of that crazy place.

I feel sad, that another club has to close down. Let them do something about the real thugs and don't make it harder on us to find a good place to party.
