young girls with old guys.... WTF is wrong with ppl???!!!!

Sorry if any falls under this group of ppl i'm ranting about, but it just bugs the fuck out of me!!!!...
DISCLAIMER: Any feminists or easily offended females should avoid reading this b/c I'm just venting, and do not mean any harm or disrespect to simple, innocent, good people... here goes....

WHY IN FUCKING HELL DO 15-17 yr OLD GIRLS GO OUT WITH 25-30 YEAR OLD GUYS???? I KNOW IT HAPPENS!!!! I HAVE FRIENDS'S FRIENDS WHO DO AND I HEAR ABOUT IT ALL TOO OFTEN!!!!

I don't get it!!! What do these young, naive girls get from these old guys that they can't get from similar aged guys, besides "experience"??? I don't get it!!!

I'm 18 and yes i'm single and I am bothered and jealous of any guy that dates a good-looking girl of my age, who would be good for me, so don't flame me with the jealousy idea, that's already understood.

I mean, look at it from the guy's perspective! Imagine you were 25, finished university, and going out with a damn grade 10 high school girl.... isn't there something wrong with you?? Don't give me the "love has no boundary from age" bullshit b/c in these modern times most anything beyond 5-6 years age difference is not gonna go far, and doesn't look good.

Also, keep in mind how all of us guys who want a girl have to settle with the younger immature girls, who have no idea what they want and what the have when they get it!

Why don't these girls find guys closer in age group??!!! is it that hard??? holy shit!!! and girls keep complaining that they get their hearts broken by ex-boyfriends...well guess what most of them never did care!!!!

in short.... what the hell is the reasoning and idea behind this crap?!!! this trend seems to be growing and getting worse, and it sucks ass!!!

OK, my Bf is 4 years older than me, and a lot of people gave me heat about it when we first started dating. It isn't as big a difference as the people you are referring to, but I was asked what I was thinking at the time, and for me personally, it had A LOT to do with the maturity levels. As we all know, most women mature quicker than men, and so guys relatively close to their age aren't at the same leval in maturity, which just sucks when it comes to relationships. However, the people you are referring to are a lot higher in age difference, which I don't totally get. Maybe it's the thrill of saying "I'm with a 25 year old guy! WOW look at me!" Who knows...

I don't agree with it, since after (like you said) 5 or 6 years the maturity levels are rarely on equal levels, and where people are in their lives are completely different, and hard to work with. I mean, a girl still in highschool and a guy who is starting a career after finishing college, I mean, they have nothing in common, and when she hits her partying point, he will be at his wanting to get settled down point. That conflicts with each other. I guess people are just dumb LOL!

hmm..... speaking from experience...

I was 20 when I started dating my X... she was 15... But she didn't look it, didn't act it, and sure her mind was way behind her age. She was a cool person to be around. Sure, she had her fits of immaturity but all in all, I did not notice the age difference. My friends made jokes of me and even called me "craddle robber" or "pedo" or "child molester"... but it didn't matter, they knew that she was "exception to the rule"... For her, the trade off was a guy with a steady job, living in his own apartment, able to take her out not to BK or MacDonalds but to a classy joint. Guy who was able to "spoil" her. I dunno about "experience" part, coz' it our relationship wasn't 100% based on physical side of things. We broke up because I knew what I wanted, to get married - she wasn't ready. She wanted to finish college, get a career, a very ambitious person who sometimes didn't make our relationship as much of a priority as her studies. Those girls are hard to find... We went our own way and we're still friends but the surprising part was that after we broke up she started dating a guy who was 28! I was 23 at the time... So I asked myself the same question: "What the fcuk!?"... Even found myself quoting Adam Sandler from "Big Daddy" - my favorite quote "His old balls.... just hanging" LOL

anywho... that was not the first time too! I had another long term relationship with a girl my age in highschool.. We went out for 2.5 years and after we broke up she started seeing a 28 year old geezer, her being 18 at the time... So, I know what you're feelin'...

I guess what a girl wants is a guy who's confident and sure of himself.. A guy who is not on an emotional/hormonal rollercoaster, guided by his little head. If you're in that "mature" category, you're ahead of the curve.

Sure, romance and love are great but it sucks when you can't take your girl out to a nice restaurant coz' your mom cut your allowance off. Some girls want a guy who has been through several relationships and knows what to expect. They usually are out of their hormonal stage and are more reasonable and able to put up with more of thier childish bullshit. Keep in mind that most chicks look for a "father figure" in their man. It's kinda hard to fill that category if you're the same age. Besides, a girl wants to be envied by her friends... When I used to pull up to pick up my X in a nice luxury car her friends were green with envy.... Hate to say it but "money talks..." sad? -yes... true? definitely... no matter how much you wnat to believe that "money can't buy you love" trust me, as the guy who didn't always have the leisure of spoling his GF, not having dough sucks.. you may not be able to buy love but it sure helps.

Don't take my word though, it's not "one size fits all" case... some chix don't care about nice dates out on the town, they care about how they are treated and how man behaves.

And finally... physical part does play a big role... No matter how experienced in bed you think you are, you do get better as you get older.. You know what to do and know what not to do... so, to some that are willing to take the risk of being chareged with a statuatory rape the rewards are, how should I say it... a girl that hasn't been "spoiled" yet... Gross, I know... thank lord I am married and I can look back at that time and have a nice chuckle.. But trust me, for girl, dating an older guy is better than for a guy dating a younger girl... Sometimes the bs you have to put up with is not worth it.

Don't worry... You'll reach that age soon enough and then you can look back and say "who would want to date a 15 year old?" Believe me, it's not as great as you think it is.

Oh and finally... it helps if you have the looks too. Sometimes getting in shape is the key, coz' physical attraction is all about the looks.

good luck, young Jedi! ))))

/end of rant

Yea, I'm getting to my mature side, and yes I can spoil a girl now, and you know what?... I would really like an older girl, but no older than 21 (i'm 18).... and you know what.... that's most likely never gonna happen. personally, i've gotten sick already of the younger girls i've gone out with.

also... as for maturity levels, on the relationship side, yes guys are more hormonal than romantic or committed when younger, but girls can be generally immature when older too..just my idea of it.

anyhoo....i appreciate this input from u guys so far!!

Posted by PhloTron on Jul-30-2003 06:34:

well i'm 26 and dating a....oh nevermind..i'm not dating anyone...I just generally hate/jeleous (of) anyone dating anyone. lucky stiffs.

oh well

I've been in love for 3 years now with a girl we met on holiday, she lived 5 hours away tho, and was 14, i was 18, and I dont see nothing wrong, we didnt do anything we shouldn't and split cos of the distance, but 3 years on we're still in love, and maybe when shes 20 or something then it might be easier for a chance, like when her folks cant boss her bout etc, but age is only a number, if u really fall for someone, u can't help their age, it just happens

Posted by DJ M.G on Jul-30-2003 12:04:

Mostly girls do go out with older blokes,

Ive rarely seen a younger lad go out with an older girl

no one in this thread has mentioned anything as extreme as what SgtFoo is talking about. i think it is wrong. i think the men who take advantage of little girls like this are assholes and the girls are probably lookign for attention or something. not to mention it is illegal...

Just in the United States of Social Conservatism.

Other countries let parents decide instead of an overzealous "big brother" state.

Girls need to realize one thing and stop being naive (dont know if you belong in that category but here it goes).

Usually when a guy is nice to you, being understanding and so on, he wants to get inside your pants. The difference between young and old men are that the later have more skills in the art of missleading girls. Of course, if you ask your boyfriend if this is the case, he will answere no. Well thats bullshit pretty much, although its sympathetic bullshit.

age is just a number, its not about whos old and who's young, as long as u love it, then do it, now shut up!!

baahahahahaha... i remember the thrills of getting into qbh when i was underage... ahh thanks for the memories...

But seriously surely most 16yo in Melb aren't that insecure and fucked up... At least not from memory... maybe I'm just getting old...

DaveSaenz loves to go out with 13 year olds.!

Sgtfoo: i understand what you feel, i felt the same at your age. The thing its always been that way, girls wanting to be with older guys.

Its not that complicated to explain.

Girls need security and they will find a mate that can supply them with lots of it. A guy your age (i dont know you personnaly, i am generalizing) is at school, without cash, no social status (a job), no house of your own, your testosterone is at 200% high and you need to have every girl out there, etc etc.

Shortly, you can't supply material, emotional and psychological security to the girl.

I am not saying that 25yrs old guys aren't taking advantage of this situation, of course they are. But that's part of life.

I am 24, I knew my gf when she was turning 18, i was 21.

Cradle Robber ....

And DaveSaenz most certainly adheres to the old adage of: If there's grass on the field, play ball.

Yea you got me scoped i think, except I can provide emotional and maybe psychological security...

and as for the ppl who've said their cases aren't extreme enough, that's fine, they've helped explain even more.
And I totally understand how all the 17 and younger kids are all thugs and trying to be something they're not, due to identity crisis, so I guess it's all their fault that the ladies are looking further up the ladder. I gotta say though, casseiopea made a good point, but with all things there are exceptions. And Ian's case would be really weird in mu opinion. If I dated a 14yr old, she'd be the same age as all my younger brothers' friends...whoa shit, that's weird, and awkward. and Phlotron, I feel your pain.

My Ex-Girlfriend left me (18) for a 25 year old guy with no job. Every once and awhile she calls me and tells me how much of an asshole he is too her. I'm sitting here on the phone and I just think to myself "Why don't you just fucking LEAVE HIM THEN." I never really understood it either. I see it all the time, girls dating guys who are far much older then them. There should be a boundary, because these girls who think that guys are "understanding" them or are more "mature" are just using that to get into your pants, because they want to have sex with a virgin or whatever. It's messed up, but there really is nothing you can do about it. I always thought it was the girls who were manipulative, but I have started to look the other way, mostly with the older guys who take these very young girls and manipulate them into thinking they love them, and then when they finally get some, they act like they never met. Whatever...I guess I started ranting.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I believe in a little thing called personal responsibility; a thing that says both people are equally responsible for whatever relationships they choose to engage in.

I also don't agree with the original poster. In many societies past and present girls at a very young age were married to men 30 or more years older than them. Evidence suggests that these relationships were more stable than modern relationships between people of similar age. It follows that age difference alone does not doom a relationship.

/Respectfully disagrees with Arbiter but refuses to get into another 6 page argument about age restrictions
