British comedy
It used to be good, now its crap!
Bottom was my favourite! richie & eddie.
Have any of you got any of there live shows?
they are fucking brilliant cos richie always forgets
his lines, so he has to ad-lib, its a crack up
Royle Family was class as well, but caroline aherne
coulnt be bothered to write another series (Bitch).
one foot in the grave was good to
Bo Selecta is brilliant, one of the higlights of that for me is the Westlife interview thingy, if you havent seen that you need to!
Nothing can ever beat
Especially the episode with the German guests
Bottom Live were some of the funniest things ever to grace screen.
shame they dont make that anymore.
Reeves & Mortimer have stopped being funny since Bang Bang aswell.
Bo'Selecta did fill the hole for a short time (thats a lie its ace!)... but i can see him going the way of Ali G.

The Bottom Live videos are pretty crap compared to the series. The series are fkin excellent.
Spaced, the comedy of a generation. U can't touch that with anything. Now where has it all gone?
I like Chris Morris, dark but dry. Anyone else know any of his works?
bottom is quality. thought i thought the 4th live inconcert one was a bit crap, looked like they wer strugeling for new and funny stuff, and me n my sister love the show to bits and we laughed about 4 times the whole dvd.
BrassEye absolutely rocked. The Cake episode has gotta be one of the best pieces of comedy in the last 10 yrs. Blue Jam was a bit iffy.
Bottom is amazing, not watched it for ages... so's Fawlty Towers.
Bo Selecta's quite good, not as good as these classics though

I like 'Allo Allo', 'Bottom' (but me too young to get into it properly) 'Black Adder' (the 4th series was my favourite, something about queeny did it for me
)Anything 'Monty Python' holy grail n live at the hollywood bowl omg 'Albatros, its fucking albatros flavoured' lol
'Smack The Pony' every now and then has a little gem, 'The Office' cringe humour but worth it. The new searies of 'Teachers' is getting on the rite track slowly, 1st series better so far imo.
cant think of any more atm.

its great how people over the pond don't understand any of our comedy
One of the big US channels wanted to buy the rights to BlackAdder once upon a time, think it was during the second or third series. Thinking they could make a US version working on the 'Olde English' theme. But after thinking about how much cash they would get from it, the producers and the BBC decided against it because they didn't think the US audience would understand the bottom-line concept of sarcasm and irony, and it would probably backfire in their faces.

Come on, noones mentioned Coupling.
coupling i forgot that, that was ace.
What was the name of the show on ch2 that had Ben Chaplin and Samantha Janus in?
I dont mind alot of american comedy though, Scrubs, Frasier, Will and Grace and generally Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler movies.
Although whenever they take a British idea and try and make an american copy it wont work, their comedy is more about timing and the rite word or look, rather than our undercurrents of irony and black.
