well they changed the name, and I am sure Nation and Buzz know what they are doing, so lets hope for B... as for Dj's... I don't really care, this place's vibe will blow the roof off of any party in DC... just go.. and EXPERIENCE!

I love the vibe at Buzz parties @ Nations. That and the room to move, and the catwalks.

OMG OMG

is there a new website or anything ??

Posted by NYGblue on Aug-26-2003 20:58:

naw.. just the messageboard announcement for now... i think the Hardcore public promoting wont begin until after the Scion event that is happening 8/29

Posted by trancEyes22 on Aug-26-2003 21:00:

whats the scion event?

Posted by NYGblue on Aug-26-2003 21:04:

A free DnB Event on 8/29... they will have 2 more on random Wednesdays in Sept. Those 2 will be Progressive Events with Scott Henry headlining one and Reid Speed the other...

Wow that is really great news!

I hope the vibe is still there, not cold and heartless (a la code)

Interesting to see how things develop.

They did this before. Buzz shut down for a while and when it returned to Nation it was called Sting. After a while they changed the name back to Buzz and it thrived for a long time!

I'm so excited! This is the best news ever! Buzz is back home in DC where it belongs!

Yeah and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Anyone who hasn't been to Buzz.. hasn't experienced the best DC Nightlife as to offer with regards to EDM... Its that simple... you should all come out, fuck it if there isn't Trance, there will be plenty of Progressive I am sure, and even some Trance...

Hell yeah the vibe is just awesome. I would even spend countless hours in the front dnb room as well as the main room. I really cant stand listening to dnb outside of clubs, but at BUZZ it was just part of the atmosphere and vibe and it was so much fun.

Man just talking about Buzz bak in DC again is making me so happy and excited. I cant wait for it to open back up

Posted by NYGblue on Aug-26-2003 22:27:

there will be dancing.. i garuntee it!

The last time Buzz re-opened the line was all the way around the building and they had to turn away something like 2000 people because Nation was FILLED to capacity! GET THERE EARLY!!!

I wonder if they still use those colored, glittery wrist-bands for VIP? Hehe. I remember people finding them on the floor and trying to hold them on their wrist with the other hand while showing the guard. One dude's fell off when he pulled his sleeve up to show them, I don't think his expression when it happened could have been any more hilarious! I was always smart enough to ask them to put it on loosely, that way I could take it back off at the end of the night and save it for another time!

As I type this I'm feeling glad that not too many Buzz regulars peruse these boards.

holy shit.....buzz!!!! i use to go to buzz back in 96', 97', 98'( i'm old).. the vibe is something not to be forgotten......i will definately probally hit that spot just for old times sake....

lol... man, those days were insane. i was there every friday for like 2 years. it'll be a different vibe, but still cool, i hope at least. but incredible names dropped by all the time at buzz, so no doubt, they'll bring top-notch headliners every single week. whether it be planet of the drums, or fucking paul van dyk (for you trance kiddies). what great times are to be had! i can't wait to go back. it's going to be excellent!

Well, I never made it to Buzz back in those days but from what I'm told the vibe was more amazing then than it was in later years. I did manage to make it to Fever back then but then again Paradox is just a scary place.

My real problem back then was finding anyone but myself that liked electronica. It's not easy when the rest of the country is so blinded by the mainstream.

I guess that since we're all so force-fed the "pop" culture that it's just hard to understand anything else. It's sad that most American's will never know how blind they really are, that their lives have been so permeated with revenue-driven advertising that they don't know how to accept something that hasn't been neatly and tightly packaged for mass consumption.

Okay, I'll end this rant before it ever begins.

Here's an interesting interview with Amanda Huie of Buzzlife Productions:

the vibe was off the hook......back when i started partying it was soooo underground--i mean i've been to illegal parties in old rundown warehouses who headlined rabbit in the moon and union jack.....go figure....your right, back then it was hard to find people who were into it....luckily for me i had a friend that i was close with and we went everywhere together....of course i was labeled an outcast, freak, and "crazy raver" (we were like the first ravers ever in our high school) obviously, i am not a raver now.....i can't get enough of the music, and it just keeps getting better and better....but back then the scene was so real--not like anything it is today, and i heard it was even better back in like 94',95'--actually my first party was new year's eve, 1995-1996...........your right, though it is sad how our american culture consumes "pop" and shit, not willing to accept anything else except what is force fed to them through multimedia, advertising, etc. i'll stop too before i start ranting...i can go on and on.....

Posted by occrider on Sep-03-2003 15:50:

Oh my god ... rabbit in the moon. I remember them from some of the magick raves pittsburgh used to have. Damn you started early ... I only got in around 98-99 ... at the time I think Micro, nautigroove, 7up, etc., were the in. Anyway yea those illegal raves where they put you in the back of uhaul's to get to the secret location were the shit . I can't believe I went through that phase.

Sorry for the Off Topic but your signature should include Utah Senator Orrin Hatch, the right wing dipshit who shoved the "RAVE Act" down our throats by stealthfully slipping it into the Amber Alert bill, which of course was passed by the house as a measure of national security..
