Show your <3 for old school gaming consoles

Oh how I miss the classic old video game systems.

Feel free to discuss your love for the SMS, or your most nostalgic home gaming system.

And how could I forget

Revolutionary side-shooter ... how many hours I spent playing this I don't want to even think about it.

I hate my nintendo.
The blow and reset and reset +on+on+on method never gets them to work.

Neo Geo lasted less than 3D0....remember neo geo has one decent game..BONK....which was fun...that rock head caveman...sold for 600 bucks....i know someone who bought one.

Atari is as old as I go. I used to love Pitfall.

As for NES, there are soooo many quality games. I still have mine, but it's the new version so no blowing for me.

River City Ransom is possibly the best game ever. It's coming out for the GBA, I might have to buy one just for that!

Galaga for the NES. Man, me & my mom used to play this game all the time.

Posted by Aya Brea on Sep-18-2003 04:37:

i still have both of my atari systems, and all my old sega consoles. i was a sega kid more than a nintendo one.

pitfall was the shit, i wish i could remember half the names of the atari games i loved. they're buried in a box somewhere.

Philips CD-i lasted even less i believe...

did anyone have Atari Jaguar (the supposedly 64-bit system but with no games to back that claim up)

Also while we're on this subject: who had Sega CD? Sega 32X? The second top-loader Nintendo Entertainment System? Atari Lynx? Sega Gamegear? Sega Saturn? Sega Dreamcast?

The cool thing about the Lynx is that it was (and still is) the only compatible handheld gaming system for both right-handed ppl and southpaws

Now if anybody still owns / can remember Colecovision then you are uber-1337.

And if so - do you remember the controller that had the 9-key keypad with the jogwheel on top? Montezuma's Revenge was so bad ass, and Popeye too.

*reminisce*

Posted by Omegasox on Sep-18-2003 04:51:

I think I still have a mod'd Saturn in my closet. I traded in an old Gameboy Advance for it and have yet to even play it. =\

Dreamcast I had, that was the shit when it first came out! Then it went to shit.

Sega died with the Genesis. Speaking of Genesis, Evander Holyfield Boxing was my addiction. I played that all last weekend at my buddy's beach house since the weather was shit. We just got loaded and played for a good 16 hours straight.

Master system rocked!

Anyone remember operatiobn wolf? fuckin excellent!

Does anyone remember the Commodore 64? With the old tape drives, it took forever to load up

I always rated Sega above Nintendo, the MEga Drive (Genesis) was sooooooooo sweet. The Game Gear was an interactive battery disposal unit. The Saturn was great til no more games came out for it, and the dreamcast was put into the market at the worng time

ah well nostalgia rocks.

(Metal Slug for Neo Geo, OMFG!!!!)

Posted by torontotrance on Sep-18-2003 16:07:

i beat super mario bros on atari.....all 72 levels.
