Just different sounding

Jam & Spoon - Stella

Compared to the other tracks of its time..

Skydive - Gates of Dawn

Posted by torontotrance on Sep-18-2003 04:27:

the layers upon layers in that track.

If you like layers, check out the Goa genre
Or Ron & Pascal - Forever

Posted by torontotrance on Sep-18-2003 04:30:

nah i hate goa....but the complexity of xpander is mindblowing...assuming you have not done too many drugs..to wreck your mind.

Posted by meneedit on Sep-18-2003 04:30:

which album is Xpander on?

i like this topic a lot because i think one of the things that makes a track great is the layers within it. i posted this track in another thread today and i can't stop listening to it...

Shmuel Flash - Chilling Moments (Bedrock Mix)

i know its a little older now, but i still love the layers in it and i think it is a great overall production. i'm sure there are other tracks that i like that would fit well in this thread but i can't think of any others atm...

Posted by meneedit on Sep-18-2003 04:42:

please, no remixes on this thread...

I'm not being mean i just like originals...

Thanks

of course...how about a great hybrid tune for ya...

Hybrid - Finish Symphony

i think that would fall under what you might be looking for as well as

Ulrich Schnauss - Nobody's Home

that is an AMAZING production. he's also very talented...

great... thanks! I love talented stuff aswell!
The other day people were going off at me for saying that gatecrasher wasnt my cup of tea but the things is... half of the artists on gatecrasher dont even use effects on their drums so it just sounds a bit home-made. -But i'm glad your into the same stuff.

WARNING: that tune isn't really a trancey tune. its very down tempo, but still i think most people can appreciate its beauty.

Posted by meneedit on Sep-18-2003 05:20:

thats ok...

To tell you the truth I was never really into "thump thump" stuff from the start. However, I really like:

Break Beats
DnB
Chillout
Alternative

but trance is definitely also on my list.

if you want a badass break beat tune check out:

Mary J Blige -Family Affair (Luke Fair Mix)

i know its a rap tune, but Luke does a great job on it and it sounds really good...

Love

Satoshi Tomiie - Virus ( Luke Fair Mix)

Posted by meneedit on Sep-18-2003 05:36:

No worries...

Your great to talk to.

P.S

I was just wondering if i could grab your email so that i could send you a sample of a track that i am working on (its really lame) because i cant actually upload to this site.
Its not for my album but i finally got a good sound out of fruity loops' ts404.

Posted by dJohn on Sep-18-2003 19:01:

Anything by Satoshi Tomiie and Max Graham are always good productions.

jeah its amazing, but its structure is a bit to simple I think
i

I say Cosmicman - I love you (V. 1.4). I think I almost never heared a track which has such a strong second Breakdown (most time the first is the "long" and "strong" one), which gives you the ultimate chilling feeling

Posted by Djeebie on Sep-18-2003 19:37:

Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (John '00' Fleming Remix)

There are so many things going on in that track, but all these things together sounds great. Really a great piece of art. Charlie May is also a great producer who has so many things going on in one track (eg. Bedrock - Emerald (Charlie May's Quartzite Cluster Mix).

Halogen vs Nash-T - On A Bridge

Posted by kr00t0n on Sep-18-2003 19:44:

I got for Hybrid - Finished Symphony too, I really do rate at a masterpiece

Although not really trance, I'd say a lot of the old Juno Reactor stuff is incredibly well constructed. Some of those songs are just plain revolutionary.
