Worm Popper Gay TAs Redux

Hey. I'm a gay TA, and absolutely love this forum for meeting new people who love trance music.

A while back, I posted a thread that invited any gay TAs (and those who love 'em) to let me know if there was any interest in developing a sub-group of the TAs who might either be gay, or be cool with the whole gay thing. (I thought it would be fun to have other gay trance fans to hang with at events).

The response surprised me in that it was incredibly positive and totally cool (I even ended up with a number of new friends.)

I wanted to keep the concept alive... So, if you are gay, bi, curious, or straight, and are interested in meeting some new people and possibly hanging out in a gay positive way (god, I hate this whole political correct crap, and yet... here I am spouting it) Let me know.

I promise we're not total freaks (despite the above paragraph).

LOL

Chris

See this is why gay people confuse me. First they want everyone to treat them like heterosexuals, and then they go and try to seperate themselves from the rest of the community (in this case the TA community). Personally, i have no problems with gay people at all and dont see why you'd want to reduce yourself to just the gay TA community when obviously youve been welcomed with open arms!?!?

Should I create a "Heterosexual TAs" thread?

meh, why do we need a sub group of TOTAs who are gay.. TOTA doesn't have anything against gays or lesbians, and we welcome just about everyone into the group!

Speak for yourself...the number of ignorant responses I got about Pride weekend was indicative that no, TOTA as a whole is not accepting of everyone.

damn straight...i say gay ta's on one side of the room the rest on the other...

*me points to the other side of the room and giggles*

edit: im on the straight side of the room cause i know someone was gonna make a stupid comment on the fact that ididnt specify what side i was on

Posted by Arsondude2.0 on Sep-20-2003 00:26:

Umm i dont mean to sound rude. BUt like gay positive places or groups or friends is a great idea and i hate when so called "straight people" say why divide yourself and segragate (cant spell) yourself. And have comment like "I dont get gay people". FUCK U And i say that in the nicest way.

Im gay and would love to hang out with gay peeps because theres no judgement or restrictions. I went to Lotus on a staight ghetto night and i felt so out of place and hate a horrible time.

Anyway chrismack count me in as a "gay TA" as you put it.

Lots of love,
To anyone
Bobby

I think that was started with the creation of the thread...

I myself don't see gay TAs, straight TAs, etc. etc.
I see people who love the music regardless of religion, creed or sex.

One ja!

Dig it?

im not gay, never was and never will. yes im aginst someone who wants to be gay with me. but im not against someone who is gay with someone else, but if u are, please make sure i dont see you bcuz i swear i will get sick and i wont be able to have sex with a women anymore. i hope no offense is taken, if so, im sorry, but i just dont want to become ill. thank you, appreciate it.

Posted by j_spot on Sep-20-2003 09:27:

I met you and 'some guy'*I dont remember his name* @ Labour of Love. And I was enjoying myself while hanging out with you two..then came the 'lets go check out so and so because hes cute'

then it hit me..you guys were gay.
and guess what?
It didnt matter. Straight, gay, bi, whatever..you were fun to hang out with, so Id do it again.(unless you thought I was a total wank, but you know what I mean)

but..I wont be planning anything. I just never do. not bias, just no planning @ all.
however good luck, and Vividboy can *pardon the phrase* eat a cock.

Dude.. don't you think that's pretty harsh? You must have talked to or just walked by 100s of gay ppl and not even known that they were gay. You weren't "ill" then were you? At first I was baffled by the whole notion of homosexuality but then I was thinking.. I like being with women and they like being with their own sex. So what's the big bloody deal? As long as it makes them happy it ain't gonna bother me or make me "ill" for that matter. The world is what you make of it buddy and if you're gonna let a stupid issue like this bother you then I pity you.

ok Rocco's final thoughts b4 flames happen and the police ends up closing it.

so my finaly thoughts are that the community in which we abide by, the scene, the culture and ofcourse the music.. it's where straights and gays and bi's can co-exhist without many conflicts. Conflicts of freedeom, feelings and ideas. We are there for a specefic reason and it's to embrass not only our sexuality but rather our taste of music and the ideas behind the scene.
In other words, in electronica, in general, the suporters of such scenes end up not judging the ppl by the colour of their skin or their sexual orientation but rather by the contribution he or she put in the scene. Support by going to parties, buying the music or even becoming Djs and producers.

ok, u can now close this thread after the flames go off mr police :P

:/
that can be answered with a bit of research.
its a good question..hope you find your answer...

Posted by samhouse on Sep-20-2003 17:34:

as a person who regularly frequents BOTH scenes...gay and straight and enjoys BOTH. (Strictly music wise here people). i will point out that ive noticed in the last few months that more and more people from "both" cultures are willing to come out to a straight club (if theyre gay) or gay club (if theyre straight) simpley for the music. this is just a casual observation and i for one am glad to see minds awakening...
