Booking DJ's? How Much $$$ ?
Anyone know how much Armin Van Burren, Paul Van Dyk, Cor Finjimin caliber djs charge?
I know it depends if its a friday / saturday night, how big the crowd turn out, if its a massive or a club setting, but anyone know a rough estimate?
Any promotors would like to give insight?
Thanks In Advance....
ANyone?
I don't know about these you mentioned.. but I'll say all from 5000 Euro (know Gielen charge) to 15000 Euro (Think Tiesto charge something like that)
1 Euro is a little more than 1 USD
im not a promoter but offers range between
5000-20000 a gig, ppl like sasha,diggers,oakey,pvd,tiesto etc

whoa shit that is crazy..
so if i practice really really hard.. travel around europe and build a name for myself.. i will be able to make $20000 a gig... in... 20 or so years. sweet
last i checked
Paul Van Dyk was about 24-30K USD (most deejays charge on a sliding scale)
Oakenfold and Fat Boy Slim will cost you the most (rumored from 50K to 100K USD)
Deejays charge you based on what they are bringing you for playing at the club. Most deejays know that if they play places, it normally packs the club for the owner. So they charge accordingly...the most money that is made for Toronto Clubs by 1 deejay, is paul oakenfold, for some reason they make mad money everytime he comes to play here.

with that being said...i always wondered...these dj's flying all over the world...do they pay for their airfare or is that somehow included by the promoters? i figure is wouldn't be too horrible if they paid it themselves since they were going to make 40k that night, but just curious hehehe..

also depends on the deejay because certain deejay ryders are rediculous like paul oakenfold but then again he can ask for pretty much anything. Most deejays ask for a decent flight, hotel and dinner + the gig. Depends on the dj tho because certain deejays have crazy ass demands then again, nothing beats the pop stars demands with their ryders.

I know that Lawler made around 15,000 for a Thursday night here in Chicago - I also know that some promoters (such as Spundae) is able to do a contract with a dj to play at various sites and guarantee dates - so the dj signs a huge ass contract for x nights for x dollars.
I heard a rumor that PvD signed a contract with some DC promoters for 100,000 to appear 3 times or some such thing. Don't quote me on that.
What does Jon'O bir cost, he is damn good and looks like he is the kinda guy who DJs for $ 50 and free beer

I will say that a few deejays have dropped their fees because the music industry problems. Steve Lawler, Nick Warren both dropped their fees then again Nick Warren plays for free every month at this club in the uk only because they agree to take his fee and use it to make the club better.

I can't remember the name
My friend was chattin to Jon O'Bir over at johns site few months back and asked jon what it would take to get him to play over here in canada. He said a plane ticket and accomidations.
While at AVB two months ago I asked Armin's girlfriend how much he gets paid to play a show like the one I was at. She said they dont know. Its really up to the promoter to decide and Armin just gets a check at the end of the month for his work. I imagine it is on a sliding scale and can very from country to country as his management changes.
