State of Matter - Azure Symphony (originally ATRC remix)

Forgot I never posted this track here and got feedback on it. You can find it here:

http://www.musicv2.com/artist/stateofmatter/

It was originally an ATRC remix but the label decided not to send the acapella and without that it sounds really nothing like ATRC (because I used none of the original melodies). Hoping to send this out to a couple of labels soon. Anyways, tear it to pieces. Thanks

EDIT: Also currently working on a remix of Jano Acta - Fludent Fiction, should be done soon.

You have a very beautiful tune going on there... I can kinda see how you intended the original vocals to fit in the track but since you don't have the vocals, it does sound like an original production

one minor thing i would change is have a bit less detune on the main lead on the 3:00 mark, but it's just my own personal opinion and it really depends on your own tastes

Very beautiful sounding track, everything else is top notch... beutiful melody, gives me a euphoric feeling... nothing else that i can really criticism... so yeah, good job man

Thanks for the fast response, appreciate it a lot. I've gotten quite a few views but no more replies, I guess people don't know me very well here yet? Ah well, I'll try to change that

Nice track I liked it alot. My only criticism is that It didn't like the track really went anywhere you know what I'm saying?

It had plenty of energy and was excellently produced I just didnt really see a climax or anything that really reached out to me.

Keep 'em comin'

Maybe the one above me wants to hear a saw riff or something

Just kidding mate, I like this one better than the original ATRC, so it's good that you could have made it your own track.

Take care,
Wim

I actually really like the amount you detuned the lead, I think it gives you a more of a unique sound. The melody is very uplifting, I wish I could burn this and listen to it some more, but its only streaming.

Thanks for the comments everybody. Yeah cristofa I would put the mp3 up normally but i wanna try a few labels first.

amazing mate, i may i know what software or\and hardware you used?

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Oct-02-2003 16:46:

The title reminds me of... something...

Posted by State of Matter on Oct-02-2003 18:40:

Thanks all for the comments.

Massive: FL Studio and Native Instruments Pro 53 for everything I do.
Mr. Mystery: I hope not. But what did you think of the track?

Posted by arctic on Oct-02-2003 21:59:

haha, it's reminding me of something as well, if only i knew what

You already know what i think of it, simply put, amazing work. I love well done saw pads, and this is thick with them. Nice to see a good meaty kick used as well

There really isn't anything i can say that's constructive, just nice work, and send this out asap!

(btw, i know it's a bit late, and probably wont be much use, but i have a 14 second acapella of actr, with a clean: 'travelling somewhere, could be anywhere, there's a coldness in the air, but i don't care')

Posted by mikefasssy on Oct-02-2003 23:19:

Dizamn, This is sweetness!

Totally euphoric, I really like it.

One point of criticism: the kick in the buildup I dont think fits to well when its just going once every 4 beats, maybe experiment with some breaky kick in there?

Caleb

arctic: thanks a lot man, appreciated. I love saw pads too, favorite kind of synth sound. I appreciate the offer for the acapella but even if I had it Armada isn't going to sign this track (not when there are 3 g&d remixes, an avb mix, and a markus schulz mix ready to flood the market), so I'd much rather just keep my options open. I really wanna see this go down at a club/event sometime.

mike: thanks for the comments, really appreciate the feedback. which part of the buildup are you talking about? When the kick plays every other beat you mean? (when it gets really fast). I think Im gonna leave this track for now, and work on the stuff infront of me, but it'd be nice to know for the future cause I use these kinds of buildups all the time.

thanks again all of you.

I just realized the name of your track. I haven't been around long enough to know about this title, plus I have a list of track names in a text file that I've just been waiting to use, so hopefully you don't think I stole this from you. Azure doesn't really mean blue anyways, and symphony isn't exactly the most unique word when it comes to track titles.

really nice track! the overall flow and feeling to the song is superb!

too bad that they didn't want to send out the acapella's that'd been really cool!

good work!

Thumbs up

Woot great tune!
Good luck bringing this bad boy alive

Posted by State of Matter on Oct-13-2003 18:39:

Ok this is rediculous, Markus or Heather or whoever, you ask me to email you, i do, you ask me to upload an mp3 for you, i download ftp software and do, you could ATLEAST have the decency to reply. It seems everyone i've had to deal with in the music industry is (for lack of a better term) a dick and feels they can just use/trample over people who "don't matter." Sorry for being rude but this is the 3rd time this has happened and I'm a little fed up with it.

EDIT: And thank you Creamfields23 for the compliment, its appreciated. I hope I can get the track released sometime too

Posted by Stuart Silver on Oct-14-2003 20:06:

I just had a listen to this SOM and its superb. I'm glad you're not turning it into an ATCR cover as I think that tune
has nearly 'had it's moment'! I can't believe you did it all with the
PRO53 - those breakdown strings sound fantastic.
Don't let the music folks grind you down - keep at it and you'll get it signed.

Posted by State of Matter on Oct-14-2003 21:35:

Thanks a lot man, appreciated. I hope I can get it signed but its hard to get record labels to even talk to you, like what i've now been through 3 times from separate people from Armada. Its just a shame that there aren't more record labels/producers that care more about music than money.

And if anyone knows any labels I could try I would appreciate that a lot. I don't know too many record labels, Im done with Armada/Anything related to United. I uploaded an mp3 demo to bonzaimusic.com but got no response, dunno how often they check that thing of if they even got it (can only imagine how many crap tracks they get submitted there). I heard Anjunabeats was cool but this isn't really their style. So yeah lists of record labels that aren't corporate dicks would be great. Thanks

Posted by Stuart Silver on Oct-15-2003 07:59:

I've heard from a few friends in the industry that it is full of bastards! If you do get it signed, don't expect a lot of (or any) cash out of it!

Going through my record box, have you tried -
ID & T (http://www.id-t.com/)
Drizzly (http://www.drizzly.com/)
Godskitchen Records (www.godskitchen.co.uk)
ATCR (A Trance communication release) very good label. (http://www.atcr.co.uk/)
Fundamental (www.fundamentalrecordings.com)
Mondo Records (http://www.mondorecords.com/)
In Trance we Trust (dunno URL)
AnjunaBeats (http://www.anjunabeats.co.uk/)

Try GK and ATCR 1st as they've both signed tracks from unknow web-based producers (Inzite).

Good luck & don't give up!!!

Posted by State of Matter on Oct-15-2003 10:20:

I'm not expecting any cash I don't care, I just want to get some music out there.

Oh, and thank you very much for the links. I'll try some of those.
