"The sounds of the Michel de Heij"
For those who are intrested in his biography:
His professional career as a house DJ kicked of 12 years ago and with his first recording release 'Break' he entered the Top 10 of the US Billboard Dance Charts. Since then, he developed his funky techno sound to what it is today. He succeeded to get a solid reputation as a DJ outside of Holland playing all over the world. Two years in a row, Michel de Hey won the Dance Award for Best Techno DJ of the Netherlands. His club night 'Future' in Nighttown Rotterdam, which was established in August 1995, developed into a respected club night functioning as a musical indicator for the Dutch club scene. Since the foundation, Michel invited many national and international artists introducing the crowd to quality house resulting in four award nominations over the past years. Michel must be seen as one of the people who took responsibility for dance music and its direction in Rotterdam. With his talent both as a producer and as a DJ, Michel opened the door to techno and techhouse for a lot of people.
Next to playing at homebase Nighttown Michel is doing gigs such as: MTC, Cruises to Pleasure, Club Risk, The More, Now & Wow, Kozzmozz, Silly Symphonies, Chemistry, The End London, I-Love-Techno, La Rocca, Caf dAnvers, Dance Valley@Amnesia Ibiza and Haoman 17 Jerusalem, not to forget festival events such as Dance Valley, Impulz, Concept, New Frontier, Four Elements and Lowlands. Further he is to be found at cultural events such as the North Sea Jazz and the Gergiev Festival with on top of it the Heineken Fast Forward Dance Parade in Rotterdam. Last year about 400.000 people visited Rotterdam to participate in this annual street parade. Each year DJ Michel de Hey, chosen as media ambassador, produces the theme song for this Rotterdam Cultural event in co-operation with Grooveyard. Last year's 'Let the music be your guide' entered the Dutch Top-40-Charts.
Michels record labels EC, Brave New World and Miracle Records are gaining popularity through several chart hits and floor fillers. But it was not Michels main objective to aim for chart hits when he founded the company. His labels are primarily respected throughout the dance music and club scene and are musically considered to be leading record labels in the Netherlands. Producers and remixers featuring on Michels labels include Night on Earth, GERD, Coming Soon, Vinylwatch, Player One, Starchild, The Juice, Sensurreal, Chord Symbols, Secret Cinema, Graylock, Literon, Luminance, Sterac, Mr C, Circulation, Grooveyard and Biological.
Next to deejaying, managing his labels and assisting his artists Michel is busy producing again. Two years ago he started a project together with Literon of which the first release 'Mintage' came out on Plink Plonk Records UK. Follow-up 'Cloaked' made press and DJ's aware of the duo and further enhanced their reputation in the UK. Also last years 'Compound' arisen from the collaboration between Michel de Hey and Grooveyard has been well received by press and DJ's. April last the 3rd collaboration with Literon 'Hirogen' came out on the Areacode-070 imprint and in May follow-up 'Transmitter' was released on EC Records. Furthermore, Michel is working on various compilation projects. The major ones are: the Essential Elements (EDM), the longest running Dutch dance compilation series since 1991, the Technological Elements series (EDM), 'Impulz' (Influx), 'Syntec' (EC records). Recently the 'Dance Valley on Ibiza Part One' compilation (Influx) came out. The 22nd of June last, the release party took place in Nighttown Rotterdam, simultaneously with the Michel de Hey website launch.

He's famous in Holland. The last song from the live set is Felix the Housecat - Silver Screen (Laurent Garnier mix??). I was at Sensation and the set from trancerules isn't the whole set. The last part is also very good. Does anybody kwnow where to find it??
