Is there going to be a decent headliner anywhere??

there's the Destiny/TR party.. and then i'm sure every club in TO will prolly have their own intimate headliner night thing like they always do ..

Guv never seems to get any international headliners for NYE ..

Last year was Max Graham.
I find the rest of the clubs in town to be lacking a decent headliner so far.

I heard over the weekend that System is doing a Resident Night which sucks considering the ammount of Progressive/House talent out there. Not to take anything away from our residents but I mean we can pay $10 to see them any other night. Why would I pay $50, just cause it's New Years????

Seriously considering the TR Party as of now even though I am not up on my Trance as of late. At least it will be something new for me.

Are the clubs asleep? Not even one god damn headliner!? Some shit bar could just bring in practically ANYONE and it would be rammed.

It's gonna be a slow new years, unless I'm in the UK.

yeah i do remember them bringing in Max ..

i think the TO club promoters tend to know that most Torontonians seem to leave the city for NYE or end up staying home. i know that i myself might be out of town, but not forsure yet. besides, i'm sure that booking costs for NYE must be pretty hefty as well ..

Well I guess so, there is nothing going on here!

Posted by jon jon on Dec-01-2003 19:38:

Props to Destiny and TR for having the balls to put something on.

No shit the DJ payrolls are expensive on NYE, it's effin NYE! That's the whole point. Yet clubs charge 5x more at the door. It wouldn't surprise me if the big boys got together and all mutually decided to do nothing.

It would of been wicked to see someone like Nick Warren, or Zabiela play the KH. I dunno, something fresh. Just my two cents.

L.A is the place to be this NYE. Holy fawk.

its cause clubs know their parties will be packed regardless of headliner or not...

torontonians might leave but a SHITLOAD of tourists from america/other parts of canada come here...

why would guv pay an insane amount of $$$ for a dj when it will be rammed with just mark o playing there...

Howells is in LA as well.
I too would have liked to see someone at the Kool Haus. Nick Warren would have been sweet or another old schooler come in and throw down a classic set.... Oh well still another month.
You can bet who ever brings in someone decent the venue will be packed.

That's just it. Supply and demand. BUT Guv would step up if they had competition. Which they don't. Because all the clubs effin got together and decided to keep it quiet. LOL I swear those fuxors do it.

yea your probably right seeing as how the guys that deal with booking for guv are the same dudes that book djs for system on fridays...

I don't even give a shit what I do on the 'eve...it's all about the Zone on New Year's day...

Addy, Deko-Ze, Tim Patrick, Stretch and Hooker, Myka, Kenny Glasgow...umm there's others too, but I'm at school and the flyer is at home.

It's gonna be a dirty dirty day

Posted by Skipper on Dec-01-2003 22:02:

I'm also thinking about the Zone on NYs day, but this year is my first year of having to go back to being productive on the 2nd. So maybe not. Right now I'm going to a house party which will be crazy enough in itself.

Posted by mute79 on Dec-01-2003 22:06:

Thumbs up

^^ house parties are usually the best for NYE's!

Posted by The Highroller on Dec-01-2003 22:09:

I will probably be going to Raveolutions just because I don't feel like sitting in a house listening to rock music all night, AND Guv for one reason or another doesn't like to book headliners.

Come on Charles, I know you've got cash, and it's pretty shitty how Toronto is ALWAYS dead on NYE...

It looks like I'll be at Raveolutions bringing in the new year with Trance and Jungle

Hopefully Talla plays more tech trance and techno though.

Any word on the set times? I might have to get my first Zone experience on NYE/Day cause that's quite the line up!

Posted by Silky Johnson on Dec-01-2003 23:24:

No clue...BUT, I was talking to a buddy with connections at the Zone, and he told me that last year there was NO COVER for ppl who showed up before 5 a.m. Otherwise it's 35 bucks, compared to 50 last year. I'm assuming that Addy might go on first in his usual time slot, and prolly do a head to head with Deko-Ze at some point...but again, no idea on set times. I just plan on being there before the sun comes up, and leaving after it goes down again!

Posted by infinity HiGH on Dec-01-2003 23:26:

I'm really considering splitting to Poland for New Years cause from the looks of it I'll be sitting at home here in T.dot

Posted by Vivid Boy on Dec-01-2003 23:28:

BTW...Fuckin right! If there was ever a perfect first Zone experience, this would be IT! Get your dirty evil pants on and come enjoy an experience like no other!
I know I go on about the Zone all time, and some ppl don't understand it's magic, but it really is an intimate place...you'd think there'd be more bullshit cause of all the sketchpads, but that's just it - there's 2 kinds of people at the Zone, sketch and non-sketch, so really when you think about it, there's only one thing to worry about...the g'd out gay asian juice monkey stripper passing out behind you on the dancefloor, lol!
