no offense, but everyone's raving about that track and i don't think it's that special... it annoys me, rather.

honestly, i can't think of a very original track... i could say ATRC, because it was somewhat revolutionary, but i'd probably get a bunch of people on my back plus it's not THAT unconventional... but really, nothing comes to mind

Inner & Outer - Reaching

nuff said.

Mario O.

Matt Darey - U Shine On [Steve Murano Mix]

First one that came to mind just because the break is so fricken awesome.

cor fijneman - exhibition

Posted by Luke on Dec-11-2003 01:34:

not trance .. but Kate Bush vs Infusion - Running Up That Hill was pretty "unconventional and original"

Posted by Psionic on Dec-11-2003 03:00:

I'd probably also go w/ Right Of Way. I can't find anything on my PC that even resembles "original" from this year except for that.

Posted by jdjd on Dec-11-2003 03:04:

i made a thread the other day about Rank 1 - Symsonic (Instrumental), creative synth line...

Traffic...

trance? yes, tech-trance
unconventional? very. no lameass buildup-breakdown
original? regardless of sampling, it doesn't follow the formula or the norms of dutch trance.

that is all.

Posted by tc-fan on Dec-11-2003 03:16:

Solar Stone vs Bond - 3rd earth
H&J ft J00F- the nazaren

Posted by SuperFarStucker on Dec-11-2003 03:17:

PvD vs Second Sun - Crush

1st time somebody has recycled the same instrumentation for all productions in the past 10 years

lmfao

Posted by deknician on Dec-11-2003 03:18:

Ferry Corsten - Rock Your Body

no, but it follows the formula of many techno tunes, making it not trance

Modulation - Spirits (Slusnik Luna Remix)

interesting take on the melody, plus nothing in my itunes library comes close to resembling it

if not that im gonna go with Andain - Beautiful Things , another production which resembles very few tracks ive heard before.

Posted by jdjd on Dec-11-2003 03:59:

how could i forget my tune of 2003 Holding onto Nothing
very original IMO

Posted by Narcissus on Dec-11-2003 05:08:

N U N R G - F R E E F A L L!!

Posted by Mebot on Dec-11-2003 05:26:

Hmm everything pretty much seems the same..

Boomerang was a little different. Luke Chable- Ride was a nice departure from the regular anthemic trance formula.

Hmm

Mauro Picotto - New Time New Place was kind of cool, what with the old 8 bit nintendo sound fx.

james holden-nothing (93 returning mix)

the structure of the tune is trance, and Dutch trance for that matter. it just fusions elements from both genres. it is not really techno. trance djs played this tune, not techno djs. that doesn't mean much, but it does tell you something.

Who cares?
This thread is about unconventional and original stuff - nobody said it'd actually have to be good.

Hmmmmm, perhaps Ricky Fobis - No Regular.
