few words of encouragement

i wanna know what everyone tells themselves to encourage themselves when theyre feeling weak...

here is mine

"you know your life better then anybody else, so take advantage of it"

I find me telling myself that Life is just a game to beat. I Don't know if it helps but at least it gives a more objective view on everything.

Posted by Gladius on Dec-28-2003 12:19:

saying to myself that millions of people are living in poor circumstances and I shouldn't be complaining about some stupid things.

"Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, then it's not the end."

For some reason I start repeating the word 'Desire' over and over again...

Posted by DaveSZ on Dec-28-2003 14:05:

There are two things about life:

Nobody gets it right.

Nobody gets out alive.

Words from a wise man I knew...

Hehe, they really are words of wisdom.

I just generally call myself a loser, assuming my housemates haven't already, and then I get my act together. No point in feeloing sorry for yourself now, is there??

I like Neitzche's often quoted aphorism: "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger"

... I know its a cliche, but it works for me

"Anything and everything in our lives is temporary."

"at least you're not btg"

Heheh looks like we have a similar outlook in a way. Here's another one that conveys the same sentiment, in a less elegant way IMO:

"Life is a grindstone; whether it grinds you down or polishes you up depends on what you're made of."

didn't we have a discussion about that saying that it also can poke your eye out, horribly disfigure or paralyze you too?

Posted by jinxed84 on Dec-29-2003 07:24:

weak?! i never feel weak. I AM TEH INVINCIBLE!!

ya or not.

when things arent going as planned you just have to realize that:

unless you are about to die(which just sucks all around)
you are gonna get through it and usually learn something from it, so just suck it up and be a man/woman about it.

btw this never actually helps when youre in a shit situation, but it sounds nice when you say it after everything is peachy again

I always feel better when I realize that Im not a Siamese twin joined at the ass w/ a homosexual who has a date tonight with a man who has an 8 ft penis...

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Dec-29-2003 16:54:

i dunno where i saw this (either on TA or the hub), but i really like this one:

"life's a bitch, it's all you can do to grab her tits and ride her for all she's worth"

Best words of encouragement: "Just do it"
Hate to sound like the Nike comercial, but better than "Just think about it"....
