Official Review : Nye aria Featuring Sharam

ok

It's 11h30

I just got home ( AT Marco's place that is )

Nic b probably did the best set of the night but, unfortunatly for all of you, you weren't there. He played some seriously twisted acid house/ chicago house. PRETTY NICE !!!!

Marco G also did a good job puttinh the table for sharam tho at one point i kinda lost track of time at one point ... there was too many ppl i wanted to talk with ( and yeah let's say it i was pretty high also :P )

Sharam : I Stayed for about an hour ... and he did impressed me that much he was begining to throw good things when i had to go ( F******g marco who had to play in quebec city @ 8 )

Anyway it was a pretty good night ( for what i saw of it ) pretty good job by all dj's. a lot of ppl in ( but not too much ).

Nive meeting the "Peurf" squad ( well a part of it anyway .... Jpx ... loose your g-f find yourself a misstress ) nacth, milanster and ... i don't know who

It's too late for my brain to thinkof a traclisting right now ,... maybe latter

excellent night Sharam played very well even though I didnt like the ending of his set much cause he seemed to be playing some sort of rock and roll songs that never ended. Glad to see the usuals Zing, Raul and Malek Nice meeting you Silkee You 2 Krinker
Thank you Castrateur, Louis and J@y for that awsome night !
For a tracklist well humm a lot of his stuff I didnt know.
I remembered he played Murder was the bass for a little 2 long trying to do some looping trick which didnt impress me. Im trying to remember songs... there was some I heard before but I dont know the exact names..
There was that Diamond song " She sits alone in a smoke filled cafe"
He played that track Help Me ( Remix?)
He never played the track I wanted, the one with the vocals saying "Ohhhhhh im driving to heaven".... even though he said he would, Oh Well .

Peace for now gotta get some sleep.

I hope you enjoyed your night, must have been awesome..
hope to see some of you at my next time @ Aria, I think it might be Preach vs Marco G, or Mauro Picotto

Yes my bad lol I wrote way to fast without thinking(I need sleep lol).
I will definately be there for Mauro

Posted by milanster on Jan-02-2004 00:53:

pretty kewl night, Marco G was prolly the best among them all.
sharam's set was kewl..but not one that i could dance to!
i would've favoured an all techno night instead...but still it was really nice!

was nice to meet u too krinker...and i think i saw Castrateur passing by me...but wasnt sure that it was him.

zing and master congo...u ppl should dance! this is what an after hours club is made for!

finally, thx for zing for providing the tickets!

Mmmm.. All techno.... hehe

now *that* would be nice... especially since there is a bit of a drought in January... mind you I would like to see Preach & Marco G.

nice tunes of the moment milanster.. that Smith & Selway release is dope.. as is the Liebing 'Too Much Talk' remixes.

Had I gone last night.. I probably would have been like Zing, and not danced much either though.

yup exactly! not much techno being played these days!

smith & selway's tune is prolly the best i've heard this year!
well about last nite, at the beggining it was REALLY hard for me to start moving to house music! I thought it was really soft!
I wasnt gonna go anyways, but i didnt have anything better to do!

now im looking fwd to picotto's night at the end of the month!

Posted by mastercongo on Jan-02-2004 09:07:

ali you need to come for a techno night. it was a really long time since we saw you before yesterday.

picotto will be great and we will dance for sure.

yes sire! picotto it'll be!

Posted by alec on Jan-02-2004 17:29:

Picotto claims he's not a techno DJ, not sure why!

Posted by Kate Manus on Jan-02-2004 17:32:

Now now Alec......

hehe... he may play some techno tracks.. but that doesn't mean that his 'style' is techno.

mauro is not really a techno dj
he plays many techno tracks but he has a versatile style
he plays from house to sum kind of electro
hes production are unique

i like when dj plays more than one style during the night

example....i was really into it for the first 3 hours of deep dish but i got bored after
mauro never bored me

Posted by Kate Manus on Jan-02-2004 22:52:

Exactly! he is *versatile* yes.....

I saw him twice last year.. and I remember sitting through his entire set in anticipation of Danilo Vigorito rockin the dex afterwards... I find Mauro, at least on that night anyway, was mixing say, 10 min worth of techno tracks, followed by 10 min of trancey tracks, and the crowd was going off to it, but personally I found it hard to get into.. I respect the fact that he plays techno tracks because he believes the quality of the productions right now is high, unlike some other genres.

since there are no 'techno' headliners in January.. I may check this out... Feb & March are gonna be off da hook though.. can't wait.. hehe

Mauro is God plain and simple

Posted by discojoe on Jan-02-2004 23:00:

well id have to side with alec. if you had to describe him to someone else hes definitely closer to techno than anything else. MOST of his sets are techno.it may not all typical carola/beyer/smith swedish techno but from what i have heard its mostly techno

Posted by alec on Jan-02-2004 23:15:

wow, and joe didn't even add a gay joke in there, thanks man

ALL RIGHT.....

even if all you guys seem to post on everything...but not on the main subject....Deep Dish....well ill personnaly stick to this subject

as a lot of the guys said...and its true....the first hours were really good...but at the end....damn i was so fed up of it.. .....hes crazy good for 3 hours...but man..he should learn where to stop...its not a diss by the way...the guy is amazing...but the crowd wasnt ready for that kindda set..long and almost always the same style...thats why Ali should of come....to change a bit the tone and the mood.....but anyways...he was great...and i have to say that Marco G was awsome too man...by the way...thanks a lot Krink....it was a great experience to feel the crowd from the booth... ....so to be at least in your conversations...ill be there too with the peurf at Mauro

its gonna rock

Posted by KrinKer on Jan-03-2004 02:37:

Mauro ??

God ??

Are u all nuts ??

His mixing is let's say decent ( at least he can beatmatch but that's all )

His tracklisting his good ... but hey it's kinda obvious 3/4 of the tracks he spins are old so .. EVERYBODY knows them ( i think even my mom knnow the tune he spins )

He's a good producter ... ok i'll agree on that one

But let's be honest i've seen him 3 times in the last two years and the only time he was any good was @ aria on october 13 2002. The others times he was crappy: Swirl 2002 3 hours of linear beats, Dagobert in april 2003 he was just crappy nothing good + he played SOOOOO hard and loud it wasn't good at all. And From what i've heard he was good only once at aria ( for the times i wasn't there ) sooooo please get offf with mauro there's a lot more techno dj's that you all should adore.

BTW NOW BACK TO THE TOPIC !

Marco Rock

And i'm preparing the tracklistings
