Hi, this is my first post here. I've been reading the forum for awhile but was too lazy to register lol. N e way, have any of you heard Cosmic Gate- Exploration of Space or Cosmic Gate- Melt to the Ocean? I dunno how old they are but I've seen people talking about "Fire Wire" alot and was wondering if anyone has heard some of their other stuff.

'Exploration of space' is pretty recent,'melt to the ocean' is the b-side of it,'fire wire'=not pretty good of those guys,and 'the drums' and 'mental atmosphere' are their first tracks(first the drums and then atmosphere),and both of them are awesome!about a year old 'the drums'(very begin summer 1999)

i personally think that cosmic gate need to sort out theyre tracks..... all of theyre recent trancs n rmx's (last year or so) have been diabollically crap... and as a harder trance lover i think that cosmic gate r bringing the harder side down....... i class theyre stuff as almost chart style hard trance....... pure crappy tackyness, sum of the older stuff is great .... also urban train mix is great, but the likes of punk (CG mix) are appauling.

cosmic gate r classed as forefront hard trance producers........ but theyre productions r really pooey.... does anyone see a good correlation here? me neither

p.s suff like mental atmoshere is good

I agree...but "Cosmic Gate - The Wave (New Clubmix)" was released in September this year & it reminds me of "Exploration Of Space" a bit..pretty hard track.

Imo, FireWire is a lousy track to begin with. Try the remix by Scot Project. As for their own productions, check out "Milky Way" from their new album, also listen to "Raging". Two banging tracks.

Personally, I disagree with a few of the above comments by other posters and I think that Cosmic Gate have matured, refined their sound and found their own place in trance. Their productions
have also improved a helluva lot. Less of the boom-boom bass that characterises hard trance, they have developed a more sophisticated sound (I think).

You should check out some of their latest remixes, e.g Svenson & Gielen - Answer The Question (Cosmic Gate Remix) and their remix of 4 Strings - Diving.

If you want an amazing set, look for Cosmic Gate Live at Eins Live.
Full on, hard beats all the way through with many of their latest album tracks included.

personally, i am not a fan of cosmic gate......a lot of their earlier stuff was good, but lately all their stuff is sounding the same. and their track with Jan Johnston, called Raging was a total disaster........those vocals did just not fit.

if ur interested in that style (hard trance), try DJ Scot Project, Hennes & Cold, Flutlicht, Arome, Derb..........there r many many quality hard trance producers out there who whip the ass outta cosmic gate! lol
