World Cup Of Hockey!

i was thinking to myself....it's in SEPTEMBER THIS YEAR, in TORONTO.

WORLD CUP OF HOCKEY and I expect Canada to destroy again and win it all....that's all.

Yep, Canada would have won the 2002 Olympics anyway, that team was sexy.

There was no World Cup in 2000. Unless you're thinking of Jr.s. The Czechs won the 1998 Olympics.

Somebody from Sweden's confused here. The World Cup of Hockey doesn't start until September. It wasn't held today and anyways did Canada not beat Sweden 5-3? Sorry bud, and that's even after picking up Forsberg and Lidstrom at the last minute which is something Canadian players would never do. Imagine being the two Swedes who were told to go packing after getting them to the semi's.

Canada is clearly the hockey super power once again (though we'll always be the best anyway). The WC is ours for the taking....after all, the World Championship team that won gold yesterday was our C team at best.

Russia, while still a big power, is by far reduced on the international scale. They've had success at the juniors the last 5-10 years, but what else? The top 4 these days are easily Canada, Sweden, Czech Republic and the USA.

Seriously though, Russians are still a force to be considered with. Don't forget, in the last olympics Russians reached semi finals. Also keep in mind that in this years WC Russians had the least NHL players of all big nations. People were eather injured or didn't want to play with the current coach Tixonov, who is apprently piece of shit by todays standards.

If Russians get new coach for next event (in september??) and all good players come they have a good chance. Though Canada is definitely the best nation at the moment.
