Uplifting trance is dead

Time to accept it and move on. Accept change and stop living in the past. Embrace the revolution of progressive house.

fo and die kthx , everyone has his own style so don't judge if a style is dead , and uplifting surely ISN'T dead !

Valid Theory. But I'll be checking back every now and then...

trance is not some kind of trend to be proclaimed dead or alive..

trance is a global culture, a state a mind. trance will never die..it will just evolve.

uplifting isn't dead.....................yet

What land are you living on lad? Progressive House was proclaimed dead ages ago!! Like the man said Trance will evolve, and so has progressive house from its extremely boring days. Music as a whole evolves, there's no point pigeon holing a style of music because it will only move away to create another style. So there you have it,
Uplifting Trance is hardly dead.

But I prefer more Energetic Trance!! Heehee

It's also a global industry. There is way too much money to be made in uplifting Trance for any of the record labels to abandon it, although in some cases that would be the best thing to happen for the genre.

Hey look, a thread about uplifting trance dying all the way back from 2001: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...=uplifting+dead

The moment something comes to life it begins to die. So the answer to your question: Yes uplifting trance is dying, but not yet dead. Airbase is still putting out uplifting stuff among other various artists.

Posted by whiskers on Mar-03-2004 21:11:

what the fuck, progressive house?

what the fuck is up with all the 'trance is dead' threads?

sort it out, ffs.

haha....thanks for the laugh

Posted by Diehard_clubber on Mar-03-2004 21:14:

Genre wars huh!

They ruin clubland. It used to be all about going out for a night out, now people are too pigeon holed. It killed the UK scene, just make sure it doesn't happen over there.

Posted by Addy_B on Mar-03-2004 21:18:

Dude.....uplifting trance fans have to be the most dedicated fans I've ever come across, I think for that reason alone uplifting trance will never truly die.

and progressive house that's been pretty dead for a while now!!

Prog isn't dead, it's just more underground now.

Dead is just a metaphor, but it seems like people agree than uplifting is on the decline. While I liked uplifting as much as the next guy, nothing new in the genre makes me think it will come back.

In 2001 anyone could give a huge list of songs and say "Seeee, it's not dead". But now that list is no more than 10 songs long.

bullshit

so the 'cool' people listened to trance in 2003, the same thing happened in 1999 and in other genres before then, everyone gets into something just cause it's different, they hump the life out of it and then desert it and bash it, true fans never do that, guess theres just a lot of those sheep around at the moment. People like you will always be into something until it's no longer seen as cool to do so, and the scene doesn't need that. There are a lot of tracks worth hearing in many styles, techno, psy, epic trance, tech-trance etc, if you really dislike trance that much then fuck off to progaddict or breaksaddict or whichever one is the one you want to hump next. Trance will never die, the only thing dying is the support of people who don't really contribute to it in the first place, and that's a good thing cos it might get better again if everyone and their pet cat stopped trying to like it.

Posted by webmeister on Mar-03-2004 22:57:

Oh, trance is dead because you think it's dead. I guess I should go listen to something else then.

Thanks for the info!

People have been saying Uplifting Trance is dying for about 5 years now, yet it keeps powering forward.

This thread reminds me why I dont visit 'Music Discussion' Much anymore...
Because stupid lame arse elitist dickheads keep starting the same fucking threads like this all the time

Why, don't you people understand that just because you choose to listen to Prog over trance, it doesnt make you some sort of musical style guru !
I like prog aswell as uplifting, but thats because i'm open-minded enough not to just stick with one genre and flame all the rest.

Jesus, get a fucking life !

Mate im totally with you on this one! God its refreshing to see people have the same views as me.

A few months ago there were some arrogant progressive head on Radio 1's Essential Mix message board slaggin off the Top 100 DJ's poll because it was all trance DJ's and all they play all year was Motorcylce apparently. So i tried to explain to them that ppl like Tiesto and many other don't just play Trance etc. I mean Tiesto sparked a fresh life into Umek's career didn't he? And what does he produce? Techno. Anyway getting to the point, after giving my comments the guy got all my posts deleted!!! How much of a twat can he be? i find alot of prog heads are like that, even tho i Love the style of music a great deal too. Its music ffs!
