4/3 will be an interesting night - Oakenfold vs. Buuren
4/3 will be a good night for LATA - I just saw on Groovetickets that on 4/3 Paul Oakenfold and Judge Jules will be spinning at the Avalon (Giant). Same night when AVB will be at Spundae.... decisions, decisions. Also there are no pre-sale tix for Avalon - door only.
Where will you be?
that's a no brainer!!! This the TA forum isn't it?
seeing armin in SF, then flying down for the 4-hour set in LA!
I would fly down to LA to see Armin there too if Markus was tagging along...and only that way since it's my off weekend in LA (I go every other weekend) ... but since Markus isn't playing, I'll be staying up here and going down to LA the following weekend.
i havent seen oakie in a while..why the fuck on the same night as avb? well i am goin to avb..i am not gonna go stand inline forever..avb 4 hr set sounds good to me.

it says on groovetickets then it is from 9pm to 9 am
ARMIN!!!!
If there was nothing else going on that night I'd consider checking Oakie out, but he really did'nt leave a good impression when he was here for NYE.
I hope a lot of people go to Oakie, then there will be more room at Spundae
first of all its van Buuren
and second of all... HAH!
man....just think about it. think about the character about both these individuals you are talking about...Armin, and Oakenjoke? I mean give me a break. Who is commited to his fans? Who is commited to giving up-and-coming artists time on the airwaves. Who actually connects with his fans during his sets and is completely humble enough to hang out with his fans after a set? Maybe it's just the St. Pat's Guinness in me...I don't post here much, but I think you all know what I am talking about. Can't wait to see y'all at AVB...
I've never seen JJ or Oak-
JJ will be in San Diego on 3/31 - Yes it's a weds
So ill probably check him out. Ill pass on Oak.

Then Armin on 4/3!

i'm willing to bet Jules ends the night.
Oakie sucked ass at Ultra, but then again he only had an hour. I'd rather see Armin + Markus at Spundae.

I'll be at Armin's that weekend...Armin is 10x better than Joakenfold....sorry Oakey
Well I haven't seen either yet, but considering all the posts I read about Armin and Oakie, I'd probably go see Armin instead. And what a coincidence, I will be going to see AVB April 2nd in SF! Woot woot. Can't wait. Armin that Friday, local Modesto rave the following night. What a week that'll be.
And remember folks: heez nam iz Armin van Buuuren, non stoppeng dee mex!
When Oakey was here in SF in January, he certainly wasn't bad. It was entertaining and all, but his track selection was just pretty generic...didn't seem like he played many rare whitelabels and stuff...I've heard local DJs and other bedroom DJs (who I've heard online) play track selections kinda close to what he played.
I am sure Oakey will be packed in LA no matter what, because tons of people who don't know the genre still have heard of Oakenfold and all the mass-media praise he used to get and will go see it...just like here in SF...90% of the crowd obviously had no clue about EDM, but the place was still overflowing and was completely sold out (including door sales) before the door even opened.
Dave
Tarek, if you are reading this, I may go to this event. Are u down, or are u going to see AVB that night?
