i love ayumi hamasaki!
i just got into her music.....i was never really interested in any asian music...until now. i was playing this game...and it had one of her songs depend on you so i downloaded that....i went to audiogalaxy and pretty much downloaded every single one of her songs and a bunch of remixes for the songs i really liked. depend on you and evolution kicks ass...and a few others stand out. got 500mb of her mp3s. plus shes hot and her voice too! woo im in love! =P
sorry to burst ur bubble like state of mind but..... she sux! she is like Britney Spears of Japan.... i admitt that some of her songs are not too bad, but when u live in the country which is obsessed w/ her, she does get fairly tiresome after a short time 
shes soo damn flakey.. u shouldhear her speak.
shes a barbie wannabe.. just like miss britney spears & all those bubble gum teen pops! 
plus.. she cants sing for shit. he voice is so incredibly nasaly and whiney! 
the only good things i can say about her is that many ppl in this silly country got into trance thanx to her 
.. thanx to her, we ve got all these stupid ditz following the trance scene.. there is nothing more annoying than seeing one of these 'wannabe' trying to dance @ a club w/ their pin-heels/platforms! ARGGGgggg~!!!!
but she does get top trance producers to rmx her songs.... Rank 1, Ferry Corsten, VDM, Dumonde....i guess its all about the connections!

oh and i think u may be happy to know this but, 2 of the new songs that Ferry Corsten dropped the other night in town features vocals by her...

The Ferry Corsten Mix of Ayumi Hamasaki "Whatever" is some of Corsten's best work. I don't have a clue what style her original stuff is!
she is quality..
quality.. be it slightly eurodance.. she more or less brought the trance influence to s.e. asia..
it is fact.. the whole bandwagon was jumped on by asia singers after that.. all because of her..
hey penguin, thanx for the recommendation. I didn't know who Ayumi Hamasaki until I read your thread. I downloaded the songs that you mention, and listened to it a few times over to get into it...
now I'm I think you just introduced me to a whole new style of music.

...now i'll have to check out some other tunes i guess

I think I started listening to her stuff when she really started getting big. I picked up her Ayu-mix CD in Japan the one with "Fly High (VDM Mix) and "Whatever" System F Mix". Although I still follow her releases nothing she's put out recently compares to her older stuff. I am still amazed at how many high profile trance producers are remixing her tracks.

youre callin ayumi hamasaki "britney spears" of japan cuz shes popular and is at the celerity status...
she does have some good songs tho...especially the european dj mixed ones..

Corsten has spiced up her cheezy original version, of the song and its worth getting just for the remix alone.

the songs that are remixed by the Trance Producers sound nothing like her original songs.... mebbe the partial vocals, yes, but thats about it.... but yeah, her remixes are not bad...
Ayumi Hamasaki - Whatever (Ferry Corsten System F Remix) indeed is quality stuff from Ferry! so is the Rank 1 rmx of her tune.. forgot wut its called!
u guys dont understand wut sorta trend she has started in this country... it INSANE!!!! the majority of the teen-girls are trying to follow her looks.... which is extremely fake..
u guys try to live in japan for awhile and mebbe ud understand y im disgusted by her lol.her posters and pics are plastered everywhere and her tunes playing everywhere! actually, im not too sure if the guys would understand my attitude toward her... lol

Hamasaki Ayumi is one of the bigger pop singers in Japan.Yea, I agree that her voice is VERY high pitched and annoying . but nevertheless it's cool to hear remixes of her songs by famous trance producers... Her style is pop... and slow jams. All the eurodance/trance songs of hers that you hear, are all remixes.

I've just downloaded the Vincent De Moor remix of Ayumi Hamasaki - Fly High and I'm listening to it right now. Sounds pretty good.
