This is a hard on for me to decide. I like many. I mus tlisten more to decide. Remember which ONE is your favorite!

breathe is a monster track... so dark

So many favorites. They are legendary. Another good example of an act whose sound got less "cheesy" (and I use that term vaguely) as their career went on, yet got immensely more popular! AMAZING.

"Smack My Bitch Up" is definitely a killer track IMHO... what is it, some sort of bastard breaks? Whatever, it KICKS SERIOUS... awesomely catchy, the explicit but curiosity-inducing video too. And the recent Seb Fontaine remix only reaffirms this one in my book. So, I think that's going to be my favorite... if I had to pick just ONE. But it's hard.

"Breathe" is great too, I remember what being a vanguard of the Stateside "Electronica revolution" in '97... the MTV play it got, and that deep throbbing bassline -- so simple, yet so dirty and effective. The Wu-Tang sampled swords only served to highlight the angry vocals!

I'd have to say Liam Howlett and crew produced not only great singles, but great albums -- still a bit of a rarity in the dance music world. however I'm waiting for #4!!! Such a long wait!

Smack my Bitch Up is my favourite, but i have only heard a handful of Prodigy tracks.

Firestarter, Breathe, Funky Shit, Smack My Bitch Up, Voodoo People

Breathe.

They have another album coming out soonish. Don't remember the time specifically, but early-mid 2004.

Oh, man. So hard to decide. I really can't. I started to listen to Prodigy in 1996. By '98 I had all of their singles and albums, and tons of live and bootleg stuff. Even the only vinyl-released first LP, came with a book. Interview books, cds... Even australian single of No Good. I all have it on the shelf, pretty nice collection! Oh, and not to forget their Vid!!

All in all, I really can't decide. I like everything from charly to smack my bitch up. I basically enjoy listening to all of their stuff. Hmm, if I really have to choose then I would select Out of Space. That track ownz, especially if you have seen the music video for it!!!

When will these fockers come out with something new? I must say "Smack My Beeatch Up" is my favorite.

Posted by Stanza on Apr-03-2004 17:08:

Breathe
Narayan
Firestarter
Fuel My Fire

Prodigy rock, just anxious to know when they'll be releasing som new stuff.

Apparently Liam Howlett is an 'anti-internet' person, he absolutely hates it for some reason..

Posted by rainbow_marble on Apr-03-2004 19:48:

Their Law, Diesel Power, Smack my bitch up, Narayan, Voodoo People

i love almost everything by prodigy, liam is amazing.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Apr-03-2004 20:10:

Anyone else dig their Dirtchamber Sessions?

Posted by wee_rooney on Apr-03-2004 20:21:

Drunk

1) No good
2) Voodoo People
3) 16th Street - Exhale (sampled from breathe, so not strictly a prodigy song )

The new #4 album has been delayed again and again but I suppose I shall wait in '04 to see if it ever does come out! I would be very surprised, and hopefully overjoyed, if this was in fact the case.

One unique thing about Prodigy is that they seem to cite hip-hop more of an influence than house. Liam Howlett had a few none-too-kind things to say about rave music. Then again, he made "Charlie", a true rave archetype "ch00n". In any case, the controversy gets attention. I still like them and hope they come out with something new.
