Best car stereo setup for playing Trance.
I want to upgrade my car stereo and need some advice.
What kind of subwoofer enclosure is best for Trance music; sealed or bass reflex?
Sealed. All the ported shit sounds terrible and boomy. 12" at the max. Larger cones have trouble keeping up with some of the faster beats.
I dont think sealed is a good idea, a lot of trance tunes have bass on them, So I sugest you get the bass reflex ones, Its all about the bass dude.

Yeah. I have a sealed Infinity perfect 12 and its awesome. I had an Inifinity perfect 10 in there in a ported box but I didnt like the sound. Put it in a sealed box and liked it so much I bought the bigger one. Its magical.
bose
Well, Which ever setup you think is right, Go for it, I don't drive, But if I had one, I go for the bass reflex, Cause, I'm all about the bass.
10" subs tend to be a little more accurate than 12" subs, but its hardly noticeable. i have 2 12's in a sealed box running off of a 400 watt amp (which isnt very much power, im feeding the subs about a quarter of what they can handle), kenwood headunit, MB Quart components up front, pioneer rear speakers, all powered by a kenwood amp. it sounds awesome, albeit the subs are slightly underpowered. check out the 10", 12" sound difference to see what you like. Also check out different enclosures for your subs (sealed, ported, and bandpass).
I got 3 10s in a sealed box, but you are best off going to sound advice, and getting their opinion on what is best.
Well im running a Coustic 12" sealed and am pretty happy with what it offers for now. I had two 10"s B52 Transonic subs that were ok but just not deep enough, so one 12" or two should do you. As for power handeling is up to your budget and liking, asit a matter of ludness yu would feel comfortable with.
A very very good place that knows audio gear from A to Z would be www.caraudioaustralia.com they have forums etc and would be able to help you pretty quick id say as theyre dedicated audio gurus with alot of experience.
Have fun and let us know how you go with the results

15"s are for everyone outside the car to listen to. All you do is shake. #Caraudio on efnet is pretty solid too. www.thezeb.com also offers advice.
400 watts for 2 12?A?!?!?!@#
My 12 by its self peaks at 1400 watts and sits at 600rms. You on crack or something?!
crossover...and make sure your bass has the responsiveness necessary|
Pioneer head unit with all Infinity speakers (Front and back, tweeters and two 10" subs in a sealed box). I have no complaints.
audiobahn 800 watts
More loud, the better.
as long as the windshield stays in its place your soundsystem is too quiet...

Current Setup is a sealed Single 12" Type R Alpine Sub running off a Sony Xplod XM1502 Amp. Perfect for everything. Source Headunit is Sony MDX-M690 Active Black Panel MD unit with a 6 CD changer. Works well for everything
Hmmm.. lot of different opinions here. But it seems that sealed is the most popular enclosure. Does the size of your trunk/car have anything to say on how large/many subs you need?
My goal is to have a nice & clean sound in my car. Not too much bass.
for trance, which doesn't have many long low bass notes such as HipHop and DnB (except for a few songs) you will not need anything bigger than 12"s
12" subs give you the best all round response. they can respond fast enough to the rapid beats and when it comes to the low notes, they can still give it some oomph.
Sealed boxes give a tighter response as they are airtight and will give a sharper kick due to something to do with pressure differences
You're goal is to have a nice clean sound in you're car, in which case i would recommend one 12" sub. That does it for me, and is still loud enough for everyone to hear with the windows down

Ive had a sound system in a 655 mustang (so all steel everything shitty steel trunk) it sounded terrible because unless I put the sub in the back seat the trunk just always made the phase out of sync.
Then I put it in my 2 door hatchback. What a difference@! beauty!
Now its in place in a WRX and still sounds cherry, but not as good as the hatch. Just watch out if youre trying to put this crap into a monster.
Ive got an old JVC Camelion head unit (17w RMS x4 55 peak) running to 4 6 1/2inch infinity kappa speakers. For bass I have an Infinity Basslink X:
The sub has one active and one passive 10 inch woofer and Ive got the control for it up front so I dont have to go and tweak with the settings. If I want alot of bass, I just crank the biatch over, less, I dial it back. The great thing about this is that it has an amp built in, and it is tiny. Driving a round a piece of shit rice burner.. I dont have much trunk space. But with this I get wonderful sound clarity and detail without losing truck space. I enjoy it. It is self powered and If my windows are closed, you dont even know I have a sub, but with the windows down, she makes herself known
everyone more pics or stfu
