Amsterdam's Avalanche. It's brewed right here in Toronto. So I say it's Canadian enough. BTW it's 8.5 or 9%, I don't remember.

I'm usually a Blue or an Ex drinker, but right now I'm into the Kokanee and the Lucky Lager.

Kokanee is amazing now that Labatt started importing it from BC again. (They were brewing Kokanee for Ontarians in Ontario) There's nothing like that glacier water to go in your beer!

and Lucky lager tastes like Blue, but it's $24 for a two-four (until monday in Ontario, when they jack the price up to $28.50.)

Also, for those of you who like high alcoholized beer (Max Ice, Old English, Bull Max, Black Bull, etc.) buy now!!! In Ontario we will see a humongous price increase on all high-alcoholic beers (above 5.5%).

Stella.. nothing beats Stella.

as for canadian beer, Canadian makes me sick. I go for blue. It's drinkable and it has a very subtle after taste. Ur typical chill beer.

Agreed.

kokanee is definetly a good choice, i personally dont like blue at all, but rickards red is definetly the best.

Well, Rickard's Red in bottle only. I can't drink red from tap. Just got horrid after taste.

Personally, for domestic beer I drink Moosehead or Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale. For a decent local brew, Brick Premium or Amber is also good.

But I die if I don't get my Guinness at a bar.

My friend Todd is gonna freak.

Moosehead is the best imo.

if u want a good relaxing beer, try kokanee

as for regular canadian beers...well..dont drink em much unless on a low budget, in which case i go for blue cos thats the cheapest

Posted by liquidchick on May-02-2004 17:32:

I don't really like Canadian beer. I'm more into Hoegarden, Stella, and Corona!!!

Well I work for the Beer Store so I know this.

What I should have said is that all high-alcoholic beers that come from out of province are going up. I'm not to sure about Ontario-made beers, but I was under the impression that they were going up as well. But I know Bull Max, Old E, etc went up as of today.

Keith's!!! arr...

There's some good microbrewed stouts lurking around, Propeller is good.

Keiths is owned by Labatts.

My favorite microbrew is Big Rock out of Alberta. The "Grasshopper" is quite good as long as you stick solely to drinking that. (changing beers in the same drinking session doesn't taste good when you're drinking Grasshopper.)

Posted by Dirtymatt on May-04-2004 07:41:

Canadian beer sounds like a paradoxical oxymoron.

Posted by rabbitjoker on May-04-2004 19:22:

Everybody should drink Big Rock products (Grasshopper, Kold, etc).

Best Canadian beer by far.

Wildcat strong

Get a six pack of talls. 6.1 percent, tasty and cheap.

Posted by ShadoWolf on May-06-2004 03:27:

Canadian beer isn't bad, but I prefer Belgian and German (esp. Bavarian) beer.

best everyday beer: Lowenbrau
