Got a question: ASK Armin van Buuren or Dave Lewis a Question!!
Update: I finally got my notes typed for a run down of my chat with armin.
Visit www.robvox.com in the Journal section to see the answers to some of the questions.
Alright, Dave Lewis and Armin van Buuren agreed to allow me a sit down with them THIS WEEKEND, prior to Armins set at ICE in Las Vegas. Ryne Tyme over at www.trancesphere.com did a great job interviewing Armin in Cleveland a few weeks back so for www.ets-global.org it had to be something different. That is why we thought it a good idea to make it more of an informal Q & A session from the TA community.
I am off to Vegas to ask your questions thanks for the submissions.
Thanks.

Some Questions planned:
01: You have said, "my biggest tracks are made in four hours" walk us through that creation process?
02: What about this rumor: collaboration with gabriel & dresden, can you tell us anything? Do you have any collaborations with any other producers coming up?
03: Communication 2004: will there be a single release, any details?
04: Clear Blue Moon, Communication, Blue Fear, Rapture (AVB Remix), you say "the rift sound of trance is dying," What do you feel the cause of this is?
06: You say trance must become more "underground." Please define what you mean by "underground.?" Your plans to help trance become more "underground?"
08: Does the implication that all electronic music lovers are constantly high bother you? Do you see a future where trance could move from the club and into music halls and stadiums across the world, like the progression of rock music?
10: What are your thoughts on the war on iraq?
11: Who would you consider to be some of the rising stars of 2004? What things does an up and coming have that makes them an "up and coming" and not just another bedroom-dj?
12: What are your thoughts on the growth of trance culture in the United States? (What are your thoughts on the scene here is the US?) Do you have any ideas for improving the scene here?
13: Politics aside US clubs or Europeon clubs?
14: Thinking back on songs like Li Kwan - Point Zero, and songs with that type of impact for you, What feelings or sensations do you get when a song really gets to you??
15: When it is not trance, what do you like to listen to? Plans to work on music outside of trance?
16: TO ARMIN AND DAVE: Armada is getting big...
How does it feel?
Where do you see Armada in 5 years, 10 years?
17: Will there be a armada-truck on the fast forwarde parade in rotterdam ?
18: What are your plans for the 3rd anniversary of ASOT?
19: #3 DJ in the world, have your own label, touring the world...what advice would you give to those of us that are working to follow in your foot steps?
20: You graduated with a law degree; do you have any plans to trade in the turntable for the briefcase? (i.e. practice law)? In the states a law degree follows a four year Undergraduate degree, and then the three years for the Juris Doctoral degree, what is the education system like in Holland?
21: Armin: You think there is an age when people should stop clubbing? Seeing some of the older people in the club can be scary. Dave: Hardest thing about managing?
22: House music, the pre-blue fear stuff and the stuff he did as gimmick, what can you tell us about this?
why david lewis never responds on emails? we have asked for a meetup in greece twice and he didnt even bother to reply

tbf Dave has always emailled me promptly and never had anything bad to say about it
My Question -
As someone who's seen Armins rise, Am I the only one who misses tracks built like Clear Blue Moon, Communication & His remix of Rapture, why in a sense, have his productions gone downhill, diff engineer or none at all ? and also why the use of vocals on so many tracks, is it purely to sell records, what happened to good old instrumentals

I've suggested this question numerous times but no ones asked it yet...

Updated
To Armin: you state in some of your other interviews that trance must become more "underground." Please define what he means by "underground" and how he plans to help trance become more "underground."
To Dave: How do you like being the Armin's whipping boy? Or, is it the vice versa (i.e. Armin's YOUR whipping boy?)

i have a few questions
1. if he is doing a big tour say in the states how many records and cds does he bring with him?
2. rap music started like trance music, people always though rap was all about violence and stuff and never gave it a chance and now its huge, trance is kind of the same alot of people think its just "rave music" where you listen to it and take drugs, so armin do you think in a few years alot more people will put the sterotype of drugs and trance behind and it will be more accepted in music industry?
do you want it to be as big as rap is today?
i know the second question is kind of long and hard to understand but its something i wanted to know for a very long time especially from a big dj.. thanks

ask armin about his collaboration with gabriel & dresden, and if there's anything new with that... and...
what are your thoughts on the war on iraq?
do you have any collaborations with any other producers coming up?
who would you consider to be some of the rising stars of 2004?
Q - What are your thoughts on the growth of trance culture in the United States?
Q - Favorite club in the States that you've mixed at?
Q - If you met someone who has never heard trance before, or just doesn't know much about it and they only had time to listen to two tracks, from which track into which track would you mix for them?
when yer making a track, do you have any idea weather it will be huge or suck before you try playing it somewhere?
Here is what I would like to ask Armin:
What was your inspiration to start mixing Trance? i.e What songs did you hear that made you want to DJ for a living? Did someone refer you to Trance or did you discover it by yourself?
How did you start DJing (how did you get your equipment/records/record deal/etc.?) Did you start out small and progress into your current status or did you try to accelerate your DJ career quickly?
What are your thoughts on the scene here is the US? Do you have any ideas for improving the scene here?
the question on a&b vs armin has already been asnwered by a&b on the anjuna board, so it will save you wasting a question!
Regarding that 4th question, be sure to include "Blue Fear", one of his first but still his best production imo.
