Tiesto dissing Vancouver
I'm sorry, but I'm not sure if I heard what I think I just heard.
I just finished watching the Tiesto - Another Day At The Office, DVD, and I watched the Miami Interview in the special features, and I swear I hear him say that he didn't like the vibe in Vancouver. He specifies that people were just touching and grabbing him, and he didn't like it. Is this the lasting impression Vancouver fans has had on him. Do you think he really doesn't like the vibe in Van, does he pick up what we put out. Because let's face it. Van doesn't exactly have the most positive vibe, atleast compared to the other places in the world Tiesto plays.
I'm just a bit unnerved by his comments, honest as they may be.
thats wierd
last I heard, I really likes Vancouver, and whenever he plays its usually at the commodore which is always packed and has a good vibe. I watched the dvd as well and i'm not sure I remember that part. I think the only bad memory of Vancouver he would have was when he was playing @ the colusium and the power went out.
i heard he really likes van too
Yeah he likes how energetic and enthusiastic we are and everything. Says he loves the vibe. But what he's refering to is like two years ago @ the commadore when he played here the Dj booth was low enough so people could touch him. Girls were apparently grabbing while he was trying to mix, peopel were throwing shit at him to be signed.
He loves the attention but people should know when and when not to throw yourself at him (ie. not when he has the headphones on in the middle of a mix). I guess that makes us seem a bit uneducated with regards to djs and dance music? Anyways I'd find in annoying too if people were grabbing at me and shit and throwin stuff at me (underwear and stuff to be signed etc.) during every mix!

there's nothing wrong with a lil gropin behind teh booth
Haha, what do you expect? Thats what happens when everyone at the show is messed out of their trees on drugs. Its disgusting.
I mean really, have you guys ever looked at the front of the stage at a party, nuff said. Christ you see shit that is just fucking wrong, people hanging off eachother, swinging back and forth in a drugged out haze. Rememebr Every DJ that comes to Vancouver sees that shit, makes us look bad.
If he really didn't like Vancouver, he wouldn't continue to spin there...just like a little place where I live.

I always thought the crowd that comes to the commodore was pretty good, then again, i've only been their once for PVD.. maybe it was an exception. Either way, are we talking about the standard front row people for every twisted rave, or just drunk chicks who want to touch the #1 dj in the world?
the old namers on heroin that u guys are refering to only go to raves, they dont go to Commodore events .... most of ppl that actually go to concerts go for the music
to be honest, I HATE Vans attitude towards Trance but i say fuck em, I love what i love
Yay Calgary!

Last time tiesto was here there werw pretty much none of those 'nammers' at the show. It was all people taht came to drink and dance and have a good time (...and do E i suppose).
At raves yah, at the commadore no.

From what I've heard tiesto really likes Vancouver. Couple years back when everyone was going crazy, he may not have liked some of the shit that was going down ie. the stuff getting thrown at him. But he loved it. People were going crazy right out of the gates. I've never heard him come out and play so hard staight off. The crowd that night was going off too. I have to say the vibe that night was the best i have ever experienced. Even friends of mine who are not really into dance music much were telling me how blown away they were by that show. The energy was pumping that night and Tiesto was loving it.
My dj partner works for a condo rental company in whistler and got to sell tiesto a timeshare, then got invited to go up and party with him. tiesto really like whistler, not vancouver.
as for that show 2 years ago, tiesto played a pretty miserable set and started with about 45 min of lame ass boring prog, and people got agitiated and someone threw a waterbottle and hit him. a shoe was also tossed i think. it was a pretty ugly show and at the end of it he just left without signing anything.
Alot of DJs love whistler
I remember that Marco V was telling me how bummed he was that he was in Van for half a day only cus he really wanted to go snowboarding in whistler

I didn't know that people on here were so anti drug, I guess it does kinda of take a way from the show, but if your there for the music, as most of you claim, then it shouldn't matter, right?

Whatever, I know for a fact there are a large number of people who frankly hate the music, and only go to shows and stuff to get right fucked. The scene doesn't really need that, but to each his own I guess. In Calgary most of that stuff seems to be left to the massives at max bell and such, and it seems to be a lot of the underage crowd.
Go to the nice club events (Although I've never been to any events at the Warehouse believe it or not) and you just get the drinking crowd, and the occasional asshole drunk there to make fun of people in the process, but generally no problems.
Since I've never really partied anywhere else I can't really compare this to any other place, but this is my general feeling of the Calgary scene.
Maybe Vancouver's is very similar. Maybe not. I dunno =P
