sorry but i just thought his airdrawndagger is suppose to be a chillout comp. i really miss his usual nice prog heavy stuff like his global underground.

is this all breakbeats again? chill or can i expect a mixed comp with some nice prog

I believe Airdrawndagger was an artist album.

Well it wasn't a compilation, it was an album. And it's not as chilled as true chillout.

AND the involver cd is going to be on the GU label. GU has given out promos...

1. Grandnational - Talk Amongst Yourselves
2. Shpongle - Devon Perception
3. Petter - These days
4. Unkle - What You Mean To Me
5. Youngsters - Smile
6. Spooky - Belong
7. Unkle - In A State
8. Lostep - Burma
9. Felix da Housecat - Watching The Cars Go By
10. Ulrich Schnauss - On My Own

Release Date: 22nd June 2004

hope its good

From the promo i'd say yes. But who am I to tell you what you are going to like? My favorite part of the promo is 10:46 I believe.

It gives me the same feeling as MMII.

Posted by Torley Wong on May-26-2004 05:49:

It seems to have the same surreal, dreamy, ethereal qualities as ADD.

Posted by LinX on May-26-2004 05:51:

well if its like that then i'll prob like it

Posted by montie on May-26-2004 06:22:

hmmm ADD and MMII??

sounds awsome
i dont wanna hear the promo, wanna hear this album in its entirety

this album will really show if sasha has what it takes. ADD (prolly my fav. electronic album of all time) was an awsome album and scorchio, xpander etc were all awsome tracks, but he had lots of help on them.
i'm looking forward to seeing what sasha can do byhimself
but yet he didn't produce all the tracks from scratch.

Aww and here I was thinking he did Xpander on his own.

Xpander written by A. Coe, D. Forbes, C. May. Produced by Sasha and Charlie May. Mixed by Neil NcLellan for Strongroom Management.

Belfunk written by A. Coe, C. May
Produced and mixed by Sasha and Charlie May.

Rabbitweed & Baja writen by A. Coe. Produced by Sasha, A. Page and G. Schumer. Engineered by A. Page & G. Schumer.

So on a sidenote, what's MMII?

Posted by Torley Wong on May-26-2004 06:31:

Anyone who knows Xpander should also listen to Spooky's "Little Bullet Pt. 1", if only for historical reasons

But... neat connection eh?

HAHAHA TRANC3 YOUR NEW AVATAR IS FANTASTICO.

MMII is an album released by John Digweed in 2002 - hence MMII (which are the latin numbers representation for 2002)

It's not exactly oblique, but I missed it the first time around -- the riff, the riff! Play them one after another in a looping cycle and I'm sure you'll hear what I'm talking about! Someone clued me into this years ago and I was amazed. Anyone else notice this?

Posted by infinity HiGH on May-26-2004 07:47:

I can't hear it...

...nevertheless, thanks for mentioning it. AMAZING TRACK!!!

It says its from '93...is it?

Not a problem. We all hear music differently yet the same, and that is the beauty of it.

It is INDEED from that era. Spooky of course, as you know, are Charlie May and Duncan Forbes, who would go on to help Sasha produce. That whole Gargantuan album was really ahead of its time, as was Leftism by Leftfield and several other gems *makes nostalgic face*. And now, Spooky is revived -- you might enjoy "Andromeda" as well, the text review only goes so far:

if sasha's album is anything like mmii then that's good for me

Posted by stevebutabi on May-26-2004 15:30:

of course it's going to be good. i can't remember the last time i heard something bad from the man.

Yea, just listening to Little Bullet, I'm surprised at how far ahead of it's time this song has been. It sounds better than a lot of present day stuff. Incredible.

Posted by spacechica on May-26-2004 18:12:

wait, is "Involver" produced completely by Sasha?

Ahh ok thanks. I'll go see if Borders has it, or some other local shop. If not, mayhaps Amazon.

Amazon has it, but they stopped selling it themselves so there are only used copies that people are selling there.

No, all tracks made from other artists. But Sasha took every single one and re-edited or remixed them.

Posted by spacechica on May-26-2004 18:32:

oh ok got it. I can't wait to hear it. Unkle's "What You Are to Me?" is a beauty of a track already. With Sasha's special touch, wow...
