Am I the only American rooting for Calgary?

Not to be offensive or anything to the US, but I'm rooting for Calgary. I've been a fan now since they beat Vancouver in the First-Round.

Am I the only American rooting for the Flames?

Every Flyers fan is with you.

All i can say

GO BOLTS GO!

Flames is the only Canadian NHL team that I don't like.

Posted by WallyTuggs on May-28-2004 20:57:

Calgary is a terrible team. I can't believe they have made it this far. They won't even make the playoffs next year.

Posted by BlAcKNoVa on May-28-2004 22:08:

Yeah, terrible teams beating three division champions(including the President's champions) in the the West, and then coming out of Tampa Bay(the leading team in the East) with a split = terrible.

Not surprised Calgary and Tampa are in the finals.

Colorado: only thing there is Joe Sakic, they werent working together as a team all the time

Detroit: Too many old guys with injuries. They lack speed, but have skill.

calgary and tampa arent horrible teams, they have been spectacular since the playoffs started. tampa been great all season and calgarys been great toward the end.

both calgary and tampa have great speed and forechecking, both work as the team and hit hard.

Oh Please
Dolphins own Tampa, they have one more Super Bowl Title than the bucs and oh yeah theres the 72 UNDEFEATED SEASON,no one else has ever done that.Lets see the Bucs have done stuff that's never been done before to, one is that your 76 team went winless the whole season and you guys have never had a kickoff returned for a touchdown, thats sad.
I will also add when the Panthers played here they made it to the stanley cup faster than your lightning.

Thanks for complimenting the city in general though

I think you have made a mistake. Calgary didn't beat Colorado. They punked out those VanCity losers, then took out Detroit and finally San Jose.

To the guy who said Calgary is a terrible team... yah, I think this forum just got dumber after that comment.

I didnt say anything about Colorado playing Calgary. Not my mistake. It was refering to the guy's comment on this comment since Colorado was on of the favored teams along side Detroit.

Ahh I see. Just the way you worded your msg and the way I read it, I thought you were mistaken that Colorado was a division champ or something. No biggie..

GO FLAMES!

I live in Colorado and I am defineately rooting for the Flames.....although I am sort of partial to them....considering that I was born in Calgary!!! Does that still count? Only 1 more game to win and they have the cup. I think they've earned it!

Posted by malek on Jun-06-2004 18:16:

Montreal is behind Calgary!!!

GO FLAMES!

if they win, i'll go downtown and show my tits

Posted by PhloTron on Jun-06-2004 19:24:

Go Flames

Most of the guys I fly with at the airline that follow hockey are going for the Flames. Everyone else goes, "why the hell does florida have a hockey team"...when I say they have 2 hockey teams...the general answer is "That's pretty ****ed up"

Anyway...I like Dave Andreychuk, and Khabi since he was a Jet...but it will be an overall sad ending if Tampa wins the cup.

Posted by Vlad on Jun-06-2004 20:37:

Ive been rooting for Calgary since they whooped Detroit, and I wanted the Flyers to play them in the Cup... plus I had money on Calgary to win in 6 (which they should have because the puck was clearly over the line).

Thanks for your support everyone. Now we wait till next year.

Posted by LinX on Jun-08-2004 18:36:

i cant wait that long

As a Calgary fan its great to hear about other cities, especially in the states rooting for The Flames.

After the loss last night, the city was in SHOCK.
I drove around for a bit, some people were still cheering and flashing their boobs but.... it was mostly dead.
What a sad sad night in Calgary.

Well at least there were no riots and very little people got hurt.

Ten years ago, when Vancouver lost to the Rangers, people in the British Columbian capital were turning over cars, looting, and getting hurt. I forgot the cost of damage, but thank God nothing like that happened in Calgary.

Posted by mactheknife on Jun-16-2004 04:19:

old news i know, but i was inactive for a while and i'm catching up.

i had been (and will be next year) rooting for the leafs, but i made do with the flames in the cup. as if it's not bad DALLAS won a while ago, now even less of a hockey town has the cup. tampa? ugh.

Yeah, I remember that.

BTW, the capital of BC is Victoria, not Vancouver
