Those cool DJ stands
I've been looking at dj stands on the net, but I couldn't find any of those cool looking dj stands/tables with the built-in mixer and deck "holes" which makes it so your setup is almost flush with the surface. I've seen a few pics of them in the dj setup pic thread, and they look amazing. Where can I get these or are they usually custom made?
They're custom made.

yea there custom made, was thinking of doing one for myself but im going to wait till i have most of my stuff to do it
whatever you build the top part out of... make sure its oak, you'll regret anything else. I work at home depot right now, and i got a lot of experience as a carpenter too... there are a lot of things you guys probably aren't thinking of.
Anthony is right. You'll probably want something to last you a long time, and something that won't absorb too much sound, incase you put your monitors by it.
Anthony, dont worry about it, everything is taken care of. The entire table will be made from maple, and stained cherry. Although you work for Home Depot, my father owns his own carptentry/construction business.
wow... a solid piece of maple? thats awesome... Lumber out here has gone up almost 300% in the last 4 monthes. I'm scared to buy anything solid, cause i can only imagine the price. but thats sick man, cherry should look really nice.
Badger, I drew up a blueprint of the design you were thinking of. No measurements, it includes, CDJ - Turntable - Mixer - Turntable and 3 cubbles to put vinyl in (or whatever you choose).
i gotta build one of those tables now. gotta find me a table saw. summer school wood shop for sure!
lol, make sure you know what your doing... because if you dont, youll end up with an off table and not enough support for the weight under the tt's and mixer
Hey, vlad, would you mind showing me those blue prints? You can do it here or over PM, whichever you prefer. You can get the image hosted at www.xbox-connection.com/hostedimages
Nothing too fancy...

i always wanted to build in my turntables & mixer too and all but then recently i bumped into a little piece of furniture here @ my place which was just perfect. Perfect height, perfect measurements for the tables & mixer, and it fits my hifi perfectly. I think it looks stunning, even without everything being built in and all
