Age Limits

Hi people, im 17 and am really into trance music and would love to go and see some live performances but am unsure about the age restrictions?

As its just like clubbing is it gunna have the usual 18 age limit? Cos thats annoying, ill have to wait another year Tis a shame as i really wana go see Tiesto and other play live, for the music and atmosphere.

So yeh if you could enlighten me on the age restrictions for the performances...and tell me if any are coming up in the london/kent area, that would be kool!

Cheers, Sam

clubs are normally 18's, but im sure you can get into clubs at 17...

Unfortuanly mate, im a bit on the short side lol, dont look my age. I wear fashionable clothes n all that so dress my age/older so i mite have a try. Basically, 17 is a crap age when you dont look it, theres nothing to do!

How strict do you reckon it would be on the door?

how tall are you, unless ur 5"4 i dont think you will have any problems at "proper" clubs.

i have to agree i hated it when i was 17, it is indeed the crappest age.

oh and you live in kent to, thats a shitter. however u are well within range of london which is full of many underground clubs which probs dont care how u are/look.

Posted by TRAI\ICE on Jun-01-2004 20:07:

if u have problems just say uve travelled quite a distance and u'll bring ur passport as ID next time.

or wear stilts

Posted by TRAI\ICE on Jun-01-2004 20:19:

lol ill bear that in mind mate!

S'all gd, so i take it theres alot of events up in the london area?

Posted by Coup on Jun-01-2004 20:30:

if uve got long to wait id get a fake ID card. i started clubbing at 16 and im not overly tall or well built.

aslong as u look confident in the queue, ie not looking sheepish staring at ur shoes, and have ur modified date of birth ready to spew out without thinking i wouldnt be too worried.

When i used to go to all the 'trendy' (shite) clubs, which was about a year ago, i always used to get asked for ID, havent been asked once since i've been going to trance nights

Posted by TRAI\ICE on Jun-01-2004 21:01:

Sounds gd, so what would be the good clubs to go to in london...for trance

i wouldnt worry too much mate, bouncers are usualyl more bothered about drugs being entered rather than minors.. i cant recall ever seeing anyone getting asked for ID in all the 3 and ahalf years ive been going to PROPER ngihts

I'd say you'd have no bother gettin' into a over 18's trance club mate, first time i went out to an over 18's i was 14 an that was to go an see Tiesto! pretty good night to start out on huh.

Never been asked for ID at a club, nor had I anywhere else, even when under age, until the other week when I was in town. lol, I was shocked.

Posted by kr00t0n on Jun-03-2004 18:51:

Been clubbing since I was 16, never been asked for ID, it's all about looking confident, and being in a group that looks the right age works as well.

There are a few of london TA's matey, heck, I used to live in Kent, I'm sure we'll see you about at some point

Offer the bouncers some cash.

Cool

i never got IDed going out from when i was 16, but as soon as u turn 18 u apparently look younger and get IDed everywhere, my experience anyways, even got IDed at the safeway where i work

I started going out when a few months after i turned 16 5 years ago now and i have never once been ided. I didnt look especially old either, always looked my age i reckon.

Unless the bouncers have really changed since when i was 16-17, youll be fine.

Oh and 17 is a great age, enjoy it whilst you can. The happiest days of my life was when i was 17.

I got ID'd at Safeway too... I thought she was joking (been in pubs and bars since I was 16). Then when she was serious I got all flustered and shocked, nearly forgot my change!!! I'm 21 and I had a face full of stubble. Wasn't like I was buying up 5l bottles of "White Lightning" either.

You should give global gathering a go, saw lots of people that looked underage in there last year! Be a pretty good last summer!
