what is the most repetitive song you have come across so far

?

mark broom - shanty star

I believe most minimal tech would go under this header

I played "Orange Minus" by Richie Hawtin (one of my favorites) for friends and it was said to be quite repetitive, although not as repetitive IMO as Speedy J's Loudboxer or certain works by Surgeon.

As for repetitive trance, I would say if you get used to certain types of structure like the buildup/breakdown, a lot could be classified here too simply because you feel like you've heard it before -- a unique type of repetition. Makes sense obliquely....

I just want one track on my PC thats unbelievably repetitive so that I can bung it on after a normal track just to piss my parents off for bagging me about the normal track

Posted by Torley Wong on Jun-21-2004 04:14:

Ha, take an 8-bar section, crossfade and loop ad infinitum... that ought to irk their ire !

Posted by meneedit on Jun-21-2004 04:20:

good idea

ralph falcon - so much love to give.

my god that song repeats the exact same 8 bar groove for 10 minutes. just adding and taking away instruments etc. sooo very repetitive

faithless - drifting away (paradiso mix)

after the opera intro, the piano plays a 32 beat repetition the entire way through the track, nonstop.

i enjoy the tune, but the song is kind of overkill

Moby - Find my baby

man, do it quickly please...

Posted by JM on Jun-21-2004 07:11:

i think AVB did a song called Monotonous or something. basically the same beat/melody for 4 minutes. pure crap.

Yeah, that was what I was going to say.

A personal fave of mine... Roland K. - Monday Groove

Geb.el - Spacewaltz

Yeah that's the one. I think it got released under the 'Together' alias. Must be the winner... extended mix I think was 11.5 mins

Posted by DjSimonB on Jun-21-2004 20:55:

Igor S - Boomerang.

I love it because of all the energy it's got, but the only thing your parents will notice is that fucking A note being played over and over and over

X-Press 2 - Smoke Machine

Posted by A.J. on Jun-21-2004 21:41:

Smoke Machine....Smoke machine....grrrr

lol that is pretty repetitive, come to think of it.

However, Together (Bangalter & DJ Falcon) is pretty fookin' annoying

The whole song is just "I got so much love to giiive! I got so much love to giiive!!!"

Another contender for most repetitive song:
Hokey Pokey

Posted by sleepydragon on Jun-21-2004 22:02:

nu-nrg - connective
is pretty repetetive

Posted by Gunyouken on Jun-21-2004 22:03:

Mauro picotto - verdi (Donno if it was just a stupid remix or what) thats just the same thing going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on

Did i mention it goes on and on?

Everytime I hear that song I want to stab out my ear drums with nails, it's so horribly repetitive!

it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator, it's time for the perculator.

joey beltram - energy flash

Posted by Mortyman on Jun-21-2004 23:17:

Mauro Picotto - Verdi.... YES, Definately, but it's got a great humming bassline to keep it going. I personally love that track, but very repetitive yes.

also, the first one that came to my mind was,

Mojado feat. Mr. Sam - Naranja (Dimitri Andreas Vision)

Anything from the new The Streets cd

Thumbs down

How about the Blade track, forgot the title
it sounds good for about 30 seconds, but is neverending and unchanging...
