peeing blood

Anyone ever run too much and have tainted urine?

i heard it happens a lot when you push yourself wayyy past your limits. not quite sure if i should go to the clinic

I've heard it's a common occurence after running a marathon. Well, maybe not common, but known to happen.

I don't know the medical ramifications, but if I ever peed blood I would get that shit checked out ASAP.

Posted by Chris Crossland on Jun-24-2004 01:51:

I would probably get that checked out. LOL i bet i will be pissing blood soon i leave for the marines in less than a month....

Posted by Zenchowdah on Jun-24-2004 01:52:

well

its not like pure red blood, like im opening a vein or anything

but it is quite evident that something that is not urine

is in my urine.

A friend of a friend (haha) had that happen when he was working out really intensely, and taking a few too many protein supplements. If you work yourself too hard, your digestive system can get out of whack, but you'll also piss blood if you put stress on your kidneys.

If it only happens once, you probably don't need to worry too much, but if you have any repeated occurrences within the same time frame (like within a month or so) then definitely get it checked out, because it could be a sign of kidney problems. Don't freak out yet though.

i pissed blood shortly after being hit in the wank with a paintball gun from about 6 feet away

and once after i was in a fight and i was kidney punched a few times before i broke his nose

and once when i was skating a rail and my board snapped in half while i was grinding and i straddled the rail and one of my nuts rolled under . .

i probably can't have kids anymore now that i think about it

if you are young and very active as far as running wise then its a normal occurence..

do you have any of the following..

history of kidney stones or kidney disease?

urinary system problems?

any pain associated with the blood in ur urine??

often times it happens, if it does not subside see your physician soon.

Posted by Orbax on Jun-24-2004 02:17:

Ive done triathalon training and never peed blood...I wouldnt say its NORMAL

Posted by RandomGirl on Jun-24-2004 02:18:

Blood in urine is a huge sign of either a urinary tract infection, or a baldder infection. I suggest going to the doctor ASAP. Cause you let one of those infections go... it hurts like a mother f**ker!

ive almost thrown up from it, but never blood.

i was layin on my friend's bed this one time, n this big chick comes up to me n just punches me as hard as she could for no real reason. i crawl to the bathroom, wanting to die, and she justifies it by saying "I had just never done it before! I wanted to try it."

bitch.

Run as in what...actual distance running?

I run 14 miles a week in my Unit's PT schedule. Every monday its a 6 mile Company run all over Fort Carson. Then every other day after its platoon PT.

I never piss blood and Im running up RIDICULOUS hills at 6000ft above sea level.

Youre just weak

Pissin blood will prob be the least of your concerns there. . . I have a buddy who was in the Marines, he said it was unreal (i'll leave unreal up for interpretation for you )

Posted by smallSHEEP on Jun-24-2004 16:48:

Yea it can happen as a result of working out. But it may also be due to a kindney stone, a bacterial infection or even cancer! So it's best to go and have the doc have a look at it. I had blood in my urine last year and it turned out to be a bacterial infection (My immune system was weak due to glandular fever) but a session of anti-biotics cleared it up in a couple of days.

edit : if it is a bacterial infection it's best to get it cleared up as soon as possible because once there is a chance it could spread to the kindneys and this is potentially much more serious.
