Wow. You guys have spent alot of money on all your software. I would have bought hardware with all that dough.
I love my atmosphere. The most alive and best sounds on tap.
Thats probably because its sample based. But that doesnt mean its not good.
Its also great because it cant be downloaded.

Convenience is the trade off for quality I suppose. And for the convenience of modularity, you would have to have the full version of Reaktor and know how to set up a modular synthesizer, knowing how to connect each part in turn. Simple to make a basic synth. A lot of hard work for a good modular. Most people here are in it for the sounds, not the slog (that's most people, not all people).
Reaktor RRP $US550 and $US460 at Zzounds, are you really saying the ebay $US300-600 for a JP 8000 or $US600-800 for a virus B doesn't make sense ?
Lets just tally up how much some people have spent here on VSTis :
All these are discount prices at Zzounds. Not saying they're the cheapest, but this is an example.
FM 7 $289.95
Absynth 289.95
V Station $249.95
Battery $199.95
Pro53 $199.95
Reaktor $460
Z3ta Euro140 (online @ rgcaudio)
You guys must really love soft synths.
