A message to Paul Martin
Do us all a favour and work with the covervatives to form a government. Perhaps its time that Canadians have a government that truely represents them. A Liberal-Conservative coalition would represent 67% of the voter's wishes. There are many issues within the 2 parties that are very similar (unlike what they would like you to think) and i think this coalition is doable. The nice part will also be that the other parties will ensure that the investigation into corruption gets completed and that no more scandals occur.
Ontario held its breathe and voted for the Liberals. Martin needs to understand that his government is not free to continue its arrogant ways. Just Remember Joe Clark....
I think Paul Martin is a frequent visitor to the Guvernment nighclub as well...I'm sure he'll see your post any minute now

omg when are these political threads are gonna stop!!!! think that's enough
Obviously the message is not FOR Paul Martin

| Originally posted by malek you have no clue. He doesn't need to work with any party to get the majority. He remains the PM and will seek votes from other parties to pass new motions. (he will get it from any party that supports any given bill). The only way to bring the govt down is if no other party supports its budget. |
I believe NDP did win enough seats to form majority opinion with the liberals.
Nope.. they are one seat shy.
the combined total makes up 154. They need 155 which means they have to work with either the Bloc or the Conservatives.

| Originally posted by Jayx1 The ONLY way he get can get anything passed is by getting a majority in parliament to vote it in. This means he has 2 choices, the Bloc or the Conservatives. The NDP did not win enough seats to be counted on alone when it comes to voting the passage of a bill. This is why i call on MArtin to work with the Conservatives and not the Bloc in order to get something done in parliament. So you see... i do have a clue.. |
Actually... the Liberals and Conservatives are closer in many ways. The Liberals are pretty closet conservatives with politically correct thinking (or red tories as most people refer to them as).
This is why Martin forced out the lefter leaning Liberals such as Sheila Copps.
Read the 2 platforms of the parties and then tell me that the Liberals and Conservatives are radically different.
PS did you know that on Sunday our Foreign Affairs minister announced he'd be sending Canadian troops to Iraq under a NATO command?
Canada..... shafted again!

In Lieberal attack ads they said "Harper would support sending troops to iraq" leading people to believe that they wouldnt.
Also under the Lieberals we have had an INCREASE in private clinics in Canada. Why just the other day i visited a private walk in clinic. The service of course was paid by OHIP but it was a for profit company providing the service. I only waited 20 mins too!

Isn't war excercise a good thing? Sorry totally off topic...lol
This is exactly why i said that the lieberal campaign was nothing but scaremongering and half truths. Sending troops to Iraq no matter what the reason still puts them in harms way which is what the Liberal party was playing on to get votes.
Deception..... get used to it Ontario... you voted for them!
Wait...you mean Canada actually has troops???
Last time I checked they didn't even have the apropriate uniforms
Yup, and harper wanted to change all that. Hard to have a peacekeeping force when you cant even transport them overseas isnt it?
Canada doesn't really need troops...
But whatever's there now should be better supported...don't get all excited though JX i'm not a cons supporter
Deception? that's ridiculous....anybody with any intelligence knows exactly what was implied by "sending troops to Iraq".....if the Conservatives and their supporters want to continue down the road of trying to discredit and campiagn against the Liberals, even after the voters have spoken, go right ahead - people will get tired of it.
ps> Canada's peacekeeping forces are among the most highly regarded in the world.
