Labor Of Love Party @ Gov.

Just wondering when this is. I hear that Gov. is the phatest club on the face of the earth and that this is a sick party. I'll def. make the trip from NYC to come up for this with quite a few other NYTA's. Any info would be appreciated.

This will be the third installment of the labour of love party at the Guvernment and it will be on Labour Day Weekend which is in the beginning of September. Ferry Corsten will be there for sure as far as I know but not yet sure of the other DJs that are comming...

The guvernment is indeed one amazing club but I haven't been to clubs in NYC so I can't compare...in any case you should be prepared for a rediculous amount of people jam packed into one club (8-9 rooms) and a massive party

Thanks. I appreciate it. Looking forward to this. It'll be my first time to Canada!!!

Haha! Guv being a 'sick' club. Well I don't agree with that, but it is usually a very good party. From what I've heard possibly Deep Dish and Infusion will be there as well.

I can't wait for this!!! I hope we can put together a meet-up with Ferry again like last year The only thing that sucks about Labour of Love is the fact that its the last party of the summer.

Dude, We must make a NYTA meetup for this. We should get the Summer Stage Crew together and make the trip.

the guv complex is easily the sikkest club i've ever been to =)

and labour of love is the biggest party of the year. like starsearcher said, 8-9rooms, and of course, the best part of summertime is Skybar, partyin outside on the roof is just sweet.

From what ive been hearing, the DJ lineup this year is incredibe

Ferry Corsten alone (IMO) is reason enough to go

Agreed...If Ferry plays anything like the last time (when he had so much fun he just decided to play for 8 hours or so) I don't even care who else is there it'll be one of the best nights ever!

Posted by High on PSI on Jul-05-2004 16:53:

dude, what other dj, scheduled from 12:30-5, is gonna go till 8:30? the guy just truely loves what he does so much, i have the utmost respect for that.

he treated us to an 8hr set, and a quality set too... that and the armin boatcruise are IMO, the best parties of the year so far (that ive been too).

One of my fav djs thats forsure =)

Ferry Corsten better not be the main headliner or this is going to suck. I hope they will stick him into Guv for all the goofballs who listen to cheese and get some proper dj for Kool Haus where the crowd knows what good music sounds like.

Yeah I forgot you guys consider Rank 1 amazing so why do I even bother.

Posted by Kytracid on Jul-05-2004 17:10:

Let's hope it's not Deep Dish in the KH then...I know TO loves these guys but lets face it, last time they performed in the Guv the set was not spectacular, and from the type of sounds they are putting out there right now, I doubt TO clubberrs will appreciate a 3 hour set full of "disco tracks" and poorly programmed prog house anthems.

Then again, maybe i'll be proved wrong, and the real Deep Dish that was destroying dance floors a few years will turn up and give the house heads a propa show. In any case, if i was to pick an act for the KH it would be someone else. Dave Seamen perhaps, or even Lexicon Ave ( for a DJ Set ).

As far as the main room of Guv is concerned, Ferry Trance is probably the best option, keep it trancey and the majority of juiceheads will migrate there, leaving the KH open for the rest of us.

Just don't replace Ferry with J00F or it'll make choosing which room to be in really difficult

Actually believe it or not but I have always liked and respected Tiesto. But his set at Guv was disappointing.

you know what, even i can admit that... wasnt the same tiesto from last yr @ the docks thats forsure

Posted by Creamfields on Jul-05-2004 17:32:

I wasn't at the Docks last year so I don't know what he was like. But I saw him a month later at Creamfields and he sucked. So I've seen him twice now and both times he sucked. If he comes again I'm gonna give him one more chance.

Posted by MarkT on Jul-05-2004 18:05:

Ferry and Rank 1 are big reasons why I got into trance...Ferry's move to electro doesn't thrill me, but at least he and Piet from Rank 1 know how to excite a crowd...Seaman was good, but hardly spectacular the last time I heard him.

I *really* hope Deep Dish is in the other room...zzzzzzzzzzz...sorry, they absolutely suck live in a big venue...they belong in System or a lounge...great producers, but there was ZERO energy the last two times I heard them live (once in Guv, once in KH).

Someone bring Guy Ornadel back DAMNIT!!!
