MTV Swearing censoring
my siss was listening to mtv and they tuned eamon - fuck it
and i noticed they distorted the shit and fuck words
why did they do it? is it illegal to swear in the US ?
no offence, but have you been living under a rock?
no i just hate mtv and never listen to it and i think it's fucking stupid censor lyrics
it's done on nearly all tv before the watershed here
apart from those really dodgy channels... like bbc
In the day they edit it out, and quite often at night. A lot of music channels, like Kerrang, have X-Rated hours, where they show all videos unedited.

i remember hearing fatboy slim's star 69 on radio... damn lol
Yeah. Generally speaking television in the US is a lot more censored than that of Europe. You would never spot breasts on a commercial here, whereas, Norway I have seen it many times. One time, really late at night, I saw "Smack My Bitch Up" on MTV here in the states. That kind of thing is uber rare and I was pretty shocked to see it on a non-movie channel. Shocked, but pretty pleased, to be honest.
I don't know if any of you know it but Channel [V] in Australia shows clips all the time with swearing, in the middle of the day (afternoon). That's definitely cool. Still, most radio stations bleep out swear words on the radio, and MTV beeps out swearing as well.
That doesn't really effect me much anyway because i only ever watch Music channels at night (for the shows) or very late on the weekend when they have the dance music shows. Electronica doesn't have swearing
(mostly)
its called the "FCC" administration. u cant swear in music thats on the radio or tv. large tv networks cant have any programming with swearing in it, they make the movie ratings "G, PG, PG13, R, X", they make the "Parental Advisory" on the CD labels, and rate all video games.
u cant see naked people either. they only show shoulders or a big fuzzy thing over their parts.
its gay, we know.
what's even more annoying is that they've started censoring EVERYTHING. i mean all brand names on people's t-shirts etc
on the osbourne's they even censored dog shit
It's pathetic, especially when they start blurring when somebody sticks out their middle finger.

That is wack. When t-shirt and hat brands and dog shit are censored, you have to wonder. Might as well live in Communism.

I can understand the business end of it, but it still kind of sucks. And I agree with the hip-hop video comment. Those videos are ridiculous, yet ok, and drinking wine can't be shown. Lame.

Good song. I heard it on the radio. They cut the song before the "fuck you, I won't do what they tell me" part.
