HappyHappy Echano - Tranquility (Summer 2004 Rework) 256kbps

Why, hello there. I've been lurking in the shadows and generally not contributing to this forum for some time, for which I apologise. You probably don't even remember me, actually, it's been that long. But I'm hoping to make up for my absence by posting not one, not two but three new Echano productions in full at 256kbps! (Though not at the same time, of course.)

Now, if you do remember me, chances are that you'll remember a track I made last year called 'Tranquility'. Well, in the absence of any new ideas I've re-made it, and the result is a version which I hope you agree supersedes the original. Enjoy!

Echano - Tranquility (Summer 2004 Rework)

okok, my tiny review....

intro
percusions are good (love those bongos...), bassdrum and hats do work well. bassline is nothing special.. anyway, its driving and fits perfectly to the tune.

first break + mainpart
i like the vocal, cricket sounds cool, also good choice with the sounds... the melody is not my thing at all, its harmonic but somehow i cant commit it to my memory.

second break
piano sounds lovely

outro
same like intro

conclusion
soundquality and buildup are absolutely pro. tough, for me it got abit repetitiv after a while and the melody got nothing to stand out from the rest. anyway, production-wise this is an a1 song.

cheers, niklas

woohoo new echano...

loving the melody a lot, its great definitely something i'm into. Your production is great as always, the only thing im not too keen on is the kick...but thats just me.

mind if i play this ?

Posted by Sunquest on Jul-30-2004 13:10:

hey echano
very pro stuff, the beats have a little g and m - sunday afternoon style to it which is awsome
the mastering is excellent, the pads are awsome, melody is kewl, im hearing a back synth melody, very quiet, u should raise the volume of that and leave that as a melody on its own after the break down, so it would go strings-guitar-then that background melody but louder, it sounds awsome i think

anyways great stuff, thanx for sharing
peace out

I loved the slowly building original and this is equally as good IMO, just leaving out the original's ambience intro & outro for a more DJ friendly version and adding a few subtle elements here and there. Everything works well together and i have no complaints to say about this. It works well but perhaps the melody isn't for everyone. I personally love this as much as i do of the original mix.

Keep up the great work Martyn! You have yet to disappoint me.

top stuff mate, the melody is stunning. you sending this to labels?

Posted by Jay M on Jul-30-2004 14:47:

Of course we remember you.

The ultimate summer trance track, really relaxing. Is it possible I heared this before in some mix? Don't remember where. Cause I don't have the original.

Aren't you submitting anything for TA Unite 4?

Posted by Icone on Jul-30-2004 15:09:

Wow, 256kbps, you're too generous Martyn! I'll get back once I have it - stunning big file as well

Cheers,
Wim

It looks like I'm submitting a deep, unconventional track I've been trying to forget about called 'Outsider'. We'll see.

Really good buildups . This track has been excellent produced.

Posted by tortoise on Jul-30-2004 17:24:

i'm with james on the kick..

and i'm missing a clap, lacks a bit of drive..

good stuff nonetheless.

I loved the original and I think I love this one even more.

Don't have the original around anymore but this one has more energy to it and the producing has improved sicne the original

I don't think i have any real gripes... Mastering as well done, melody is beautiful

I think it sounds great with or without a clap

Good job!

Superb as always mart

I love the subtl changes you have added to this, the piano in perticular

Great stuff

Posted by Icone on Jul-31-2004 11:31:

Sounds very nice to me mate! I like the new twists you did with the melody.

To me, there's nothing wrong with the kick, I think it fits your style. Bassline and percs are a-ok.

Take care,
Wim

Who is this 'Echano' ?

Only messing, just downloading now! You must know once i've downaloded this its going on in a stopage for chicanes set at palladium, so it had best be good!

excellent as usual

Posted by Shepless on Aug-01-2004 02:39:

Read This!

I must of heard sooooo many version of tranquility! Lol:

The bassdrum is fine, don't change it! Tune has a fantastic feel to it, sounds full, and the production is tight. Breakdown i stunning, fantastic to listen to!

Main part, I found the build to be a tad too long, maybe it would sound better if you added an extra element in there, just for the build. Would make it a bit more interesting! Other than its great!

Main gripe about main part was the open hat seemed a bit loud. I think that its the Rex file or backup hats you've got going that might be too loud...?

6 Mins is beautiful!

Overall mate your back, and in top form as always - quality is now expected from Echano tunes...

Shep

P.S. - Is this up for remix?

Posted by davidemonin on Aug-01-2004 04:16:

Yep now I know. Sounds a lot clearer, in TA 2 it was a bit muddier. Lovely track, comparable to Feels Like Flying.
