Hello! new version: DJ Freaq - Trance Formula [August Remix]

EDIT: Re-uploaded final-final mix (august remix) of song, it's all done! redownload and tell me what you thinK :P

I basically took the comments and suggestions for other peeps, and used some of them. I'm done with this song, and I just added/changed a few things. I think it has turned into what I think is a better song than when it started out, anyway, it's done, any more suggestions/comments I will use in future productions.

Thanks all!

DJ Freaq - Trance Formula [August Remix] 145 BPM 192kbps 8.9 megs

please ignore my old thread, i have deleted it

Posted by wrzonance on Aug-03-2004 19:36:

so far my biggest problem has been making drums and getting good drum samples... the quality doesn't sound that good w. the drums i think, it's better than the original by far, but that's what's bothering me.

its just one big learning process

Nice song . What have you used to produce this song Freq ?

Posted by wrzonance on Aug-03-2004 23:54:

Reason 2.5, Acid PRO 4.0, and my Yamaha psr-225 midi keyboard for figuring out tunes... and oh yea, a large sample library

Posted by Neeldan on Aug-04-2004 00:20:

THx for answer. I've been starting learn Cubase SX 2. I also like Reason

Sounds good. That synth at 2:12, love the sound of it, sounds like you've got some LFO action going on there ( lol I can't explain it ). Sounds like some really fast tremelo; anyway sounds really cool.

If I had any suggestions for your future productions, I'd say begin adding more layers, even subtle ones that you don't really hear but just thicken everything up and add complexity to the sound.

Posted by wrzonance on Aug-04-2004 01:40:

you nailed it lfo indeed
definately, I intend to go more in depth with my future tracks... all my older stuff on my main site was produced usually overnight in a fit of insomnia, this particular track I actually spent a lot of time on... i look forward to better productions thanks all

Freaq what headphones do you hung on neck on your avatar ?

Posted by wrzonance on Aug-04-2004 05:43:

those are my old n shitty sony v-300s
i have sony v700s now, but i have no digital camera to update my avatar yet, or my website, soo much to do on other peoples projects that i haven't had time

Posted by Neeldan on Aug-04-2004 05:50:

You mean Sony mdrv 700 ?. Are they realy great ?

Posted by wrzonance on Aug-04-2004 05:55:

yea same things v700 is just an easier way to say it technically:

SONY
DYNAMIC STEREO HEADPHONES
MDR-V700

and yeaup, they are excellent headphones

Posted by Neeldan on Aug-04-2004 06:00:

These headphones what I meant .
I'm going to buy for 2 months i guess.
Freaq could you tell me that are there good as monitor headphones ?

PS. I was on your site and I've spotted that you have polish name nad surname, have you ??

Posted by wrzonance on Aug-04-2004 06:07:

indeed, my heritage is Poland!!!
unfortunately I have never had the opporunity to visit my father country, my great grandfather originally immigrated to the united states many years ago

anyway, the sony mdrv700's work wonderfully as monitoring headphones, good bass response and they cut down on outside noise enough

good phones over all

Posted by Neeldan on Aug-04-2004 06:20:

Hehe...very nice countryman
I hope you see in Poland somewhen, if not I will find you and...

Great !!!. I have to buy these headphones . Thx for infos

Kumplu

Nou maybe you have right. I don't know, I haven't tested both headphones but 900's are more expensive

Posted by wrzonance on Aug-04-2004 16:15:

I checked out some reviews on the 900s and some guy said they were absolute shit, so now I don't know for sure anymore. I'd go for the 700s anyway, less expensive and known for great sound quality, although I have no idea what that reviewer was thinking about the 900s, he just be a little bitch and it's better to ignore him. Anyway, I'm content with my 700s.

Posted by Neeldan on Aug-04-2004 16:47:

Freaq have you read thread about headphones in DJ Booth section ?. People strongly critize 700s. Now I don't know what think about all these headphones .
I know one thing that I have to sell my Reloop headphones beacuse it's incredible shit

Posted by wrzonance on Aug-04-2004 17:21:

Dunno

sad i don't know why they'd exscoriate the 700s

/me shrugs

oh well

Posted by Neeldan on Aug-04-2004 18:03:

I think that 700's will be enough for me so I should collect money

Posted by Massive84 on Aug-04-2004 22:08:

right back on topic.

solid kick.

those congas or something with the beat, i prefer delay on such things, but thats taste.

your acidish bass, can't do..bass and kick are essential to carry a tune and give it a good atmosphere.

break comes in to fast.

your lead is to raw, and to loud, try to reverb it a bit and stereo delay.

those bells arn't my thing i don't think they fit

the main lead (i assume) is nice with the sweeping strings.

i think your new to producing right?

anyway good luck

hah, way new. but thanks for the input

Smile Tongue This I like

I've heard a lot of tracks at several other sites and as you said to me, a lot of shit out there....

This is not one of them... I will have to agree thou, with some of the others, a little more depth would make this track a real mindblower...

I saw your site and will take a good listen to your other tracks... If you would like me to rewiev some of them, please let me know...

Your friendly Ghost of Mozart...

Posted by wrzonance on Aug-05-2004 06:05:

thanks wolf, but most of those songs on there, at least the one in the "good" music category aren't all that good. the only shining stars are trance formula, maybe 90 down 90, and maybe Get Ready

i'd reccomend listening to throw back, it's different... but once i get better at this whole track production stuff i'll put the old songs to rest :P lol

but thank you for your input, im gonna check out your music.download.com stuff any goodies there?

Posted by Mozarts ghost on Aug-05-2004 06:16:

It's not that many, but I like Dreams and India most...
The one called Pre-orgastic needs a really good subwoffer to sound the way it should... Watch out, I mean you wouldn't want to crack them headphones of yours...

Greats from Mozarts Ghost aka Wolftech
