TA celebrities

Blik's thread somehow disappeared while I was out "partying", but when I read it earlier I was infuriated, and now I simply need to let off steem. I'm probably not going to get any more popular, but these are my views on the topic of a possible TA-elite among us.

1: I'm glad that Swamper has responded to popular demand and created the VIP-section...

2: ...but I'm saddened that some use it as a way of setting themselves above others.

3: However, when all is said and done, it's not very constructive to post an "I'm unhappy and leaving" thread in the chill out room. What good is that going to do us? Why not keep posting like you used to, and then ignoring people with too high an opinion of themselves?

4: Actually the elite has been with us for some time. I don't imagine that my posts are more interesting than those the rest of you post (judging from the replies I get they're possibly less interesting), but clearly some of us do think of themselves as a kind of celebrity. What's the point of posting threads like "I'm not here for the next month", "I'm back" if not for getting some quick sympathy from the rest of us? I hate to see a good subject being pushed out of the list because of useless threads praising one individual. If you really think that your absense/return is important to some, why not PM them?

Now, I'm not angry with Blik, as I can easily imagine how upset I would be if somebody devaluated my opinion because of my low post-count or some other trivial thing, but we've had so many of these personal threads lately, and I think it should stop. I signed up here because of the friendly atmosphere and the possibility to discuss my favourite subject with like-minded individuals - not to be a participant of Survivor or Big Brother.

I wish we had more people with such opinions like yours in here....

i'm not saying your thread is useless or anything, but the other one got closed for a reason. it might be best to put this vip topic to rest and not cause swamper anymore greif when all he had was good intentions. just my thoughts...

but i think u got me all wrong...where did i say that all "VIP" TAs are dorks...all i said was that those who post here saying they're about to leave (or have returned) - *regardless* of their TA status -are kinda wasting time...

its actually not THAT big of a deal with me, and if you haven't noticed already, i myself often reply to such threads...

and i don't believe there are any "VIP" TAs...altho sum are far more agreeable than others...

This is only causing public forums less posts --> therefore much less intresting for me!

BUT hey: It's your call afterall... I will keep postin in the normal forums hoping that the 'VIPs' will understand that the vip-forum is a total nosense.

Understand, T.A. and every other trance related website on the net is one community.. Others may not get along, although there is one reason why we are all here which is the music.

It is totally understandable for every-1 to want to be part of this "v.i.p" section and thats totally understandable.. People take the concept of the word (very important people) as "you are important I am not"? No way, it is in no way refered as that..

Bilks "I am leaving thread" yesterday was "his own" opinion in his words.. He said he didnt care because he wasnt a part of the section, he said he made the thread because he thought it wasnt fare..

Hmm... In all honesty, I do not believe if he was in this so called "v.i.p." forum from the start that that thread wouldve ever existed neither would this one or the talk about this V.I.P. section.. There is a certain way of going about things and the way Bilk did it wasnt it and thats it..

Every-1 needs to relax and understand that just because it's v.i.p, it doesnt mean that no-1 isnt allowd to post here because they arent part of another section.. Ridiculous..

And just to add a point, in the ViP section there is a general population, there are ppl in there with less than 200 posts and ppl in there with over 4000 posts, the post count does not make any difference to who gets into ViP forum !
nor does the length of time u have been here at TA
there is at least 1 guy in there who has been here about a month.

And as for newbies, we need new ppl to come onto TA, they help bring in new ideas and new conversation and new blood to the forums where some of the older TA's have naturally moved on.

What we dont need is for new ppl to come to TA and see stupid posts and arguements, that will really encourage them to stay huh ?
