Dancing Dude Bushism

New 'Bushism' born at bill signing
WASHINGTON (AP) President Bush offered up a new entry for his catalog of "Bushisms" on Thursday, declaring that his administration will "never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people."

Bush signs The Department of Defense Appropriations Act of 2005 during a ceremony in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, Thursday.
By Pablo Martinez Monsivais, AP

Bush misspoke as he delivered a speech at the signing ceremony for a $417 billion defense spending bill.

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we," Bush said. "They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

No one in Bush's audience of military brass or Pentagon chiefs reacted.

yeah yeah, we all know that he mis-speaks all the time. Who really cares? it's what he means that matters.

are you serious?

Posted by DrUg_Tit0 on Aug-05-2004 19:26:

He finally admitted it! I guess Kerry should use the recording in a commercial to prove that Bush is bent on destroying the US.

man president of the most powerful nation in the world cant speak properly? is that something to be proud of? or something to ignore? isn't that one of the vital qualities of a "PRESIDENT".

Well it's not like he's the first. Warren Harding made up words all the time. Example: Normalcy.

priceless

But of course, an inadvertent Bush verbal gaffe makes the AP wire while Sen. Kerry's stupid campaign comments toy with the lives of hundreds of people, but get no play in the media, but for one story.

i agree.

hearing Kerry speak is like listening to a cardboard box speak. at least Bush gives you something to chuckle at every once in a while during his speeches.

we obviously know that bush is an idiot and always makes mistakes in his speeches, however, its the irony in that sentence which us lefties giggle at.

For once, i actually agree with what he literally says in that sentence!

Maybe bush realizes that Bushisms are making his speeches more interesting so he intentionally uses them in order to attract more people to listen to his speeches...

What makes you think that this was a malapropism?

ya in holland i have to learn fucking german and english to get a job at the bank..

a preisdent don't even need to learn other languages

not only bush that suck ass but the Frensh and Italians suck also.

their presidents can't even speak english, i mean don't they feel any shame? that a 14 year old kid like my brother at least can speak english and they can't?

i really don't get this world.

Posted by BadBadNeil on Aug-06-2004 15:12:

Bush also knows spanish or perhaps you might call it spanglish. The reason is that a large portion of our population is also hispanic. A large portion is also black so i'm expecting bush to learn ebonics next.

See where you work learning those languages is a requirement of the job, for politicians they don't need to learn a language because they have interpreters although with its global popularity I'd expect English from most politicians. Also I'm assuming that when they were kids, second languages weren't emphasized like they are today where kids often learn 1 or 2 other languages.

Just one more piece of proof of Bush's utter lack of command of the English language. As President of this nation I am ashamed that he speaks for America in the World. What does it say when the sitting president of our nation cannot even clearly communicate his thoughts, the reality is that its not a one off occurence but a normalcy, I mean normality

i think part of the problem is that he can clearly express his thoughts, he just has a hard time communicating his speeches.
