Favourite Authors

Come on then... what does everyone read?

I personaly like horror novels.
Clive barker is my main man.

Posted by DarkAngel on Aug-06-2004 04:14:

Stephen King is my fav. I've heard Dean Koontz writes good stuff as well.

Posted by Mod1 on Aug-06-2004 04:16:

i love stephen king books but i always find the endings rubbish.

he seems to come up with such a cool idea he cant write his way out of it.

David Gemmell

It's all about Tolkien, and all the Tolkien-esque writers that model their stories after his. By this I mean that I like anyone who writes fantasy novels today.

B.F. Skinner

he's the man.

Can't say I've ever heard an opinion like that before.

Well, I make my books a little more different than his, but he's still my idol. I've read about 10 of his books or so.

Yeah, Robert Jordan, Salvatore, Weiss...etc. Any fantasy book nowadays is basically based upon Tolkien's work, but I never knew, did Tolkien actually come up with this, or just one of the first to publish a series of novels about it? I should check that out...

I like both of them, but I love Dean Koontz. I like his writing style better than Stephen King's.

well i havent read anything in years. but ill say gary pulsen cause i was forced to read a book by him and his stuff is nice.

Posted by Rodrico on Aug-06-2004 05:18:

Oh yeah, forgot to add in my 2 cents, R.A. Salvatore, Anne Rice, but mostly, I just pick up books here and there at random and just read whatever I can, Im hoping on checkin some Tom Clancy soon.

As for really good authors, I would say my favorite writer is Gore Vidal, the way he writes inspires me in every single way as an aspiring journalist.
