Peace activists

Peace activists? Come on! Call them what they are...anti-Israel activists. I hate how anyone can masquerade as a "peace activist" and still vandalize property and attack people, including authority figures like cops and soldiers.

That guy on the left is truly devoted to his principles of non-violence.

The man in the lower photo appears to be a Palestinian (possibly a resident of the area?) -- has he ever identified himself as a 'peace activist'? If he has, do his actions mean that all peace activists hit people? Let's take the example of the Republican Party preselecting a candidate who is a professed supporter of eugenics and a racist who believes in 'superior races'. Does this mean that all Republicans are white nationalists/racists and support killing off others? As for labelling all 'peace activists' 'anti-Israeli activists', is there a problem with opposing Israel when it kills Palestinians/bulldozes people's houses? Is this in any way inconsistent with a desire to see peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?

Finally, the bizarre 'authority figure' comment. Are you implying that because someone is a soldier, everything they do is therefore morally and ethically acceptable? If so, why? Are members of the Sudanese army (read: government death squads) acting like 'authority figures' when they exterminate entire villages?

and then when the israeli soldiesrs are protecting them themselves the whole photographers are taking pictures of soldiers hiting civilians.

This is primarily an example of media bias: by definition, if you use violence to try to advance your cause, you are not a "peace activist". Yet certain circles deem any "left-wing", "anti-military" activists "peace activists".

When did I ever say all "peace activists" were "anti-Israel activists"? I said these activists were anti-Israel, and obviously hardly interested in "peace".

re: authority figure, see definition of "peace activist". If you attack them, you are not a peace activist.

I would just like some honesty in reporting. My initial post had nothing to do with whether the activists cause is justified (it is not, if you're curious ), merely that their violent tactics are whitewashed by a sympathetic world media.

Aren't there any trees out there in Israel for them to hug?

When will they stop the hate and just hammer a peace agreement and a truce that solves the matters. It's unfortunate that both sides are so deeply dug into their beliefs that a peace agreement seems out of the question. The hate shows up here with Cyrus King, Zing, Malek, Fastmp3 and others and their views of things. You people show exactly why there is no peace agreement because your minds are so filled with hate for the other side. This problem has gone on far too long and it won't end if an agreement is not solved, more suicide bombings, more Isreal fighting back, more innocent people who want to live their lives without violence and just go living dying for no reason. The situation shows what happens when two sides hate each other so much that they can't do what's best for future generations (which is a peaceful upbringing without threats of violence) but no, both sides are too selfish to care about that or they would have solved this problem.

you are so one sided its not even funny.

You claim that you are nuetral yet illustrate that the palestinians initiate the suicide bombings first and then israel retatliates.

And we dont HATE as you like to label so eloquently, we just hate the actions and the people that make these decisions.

Remember this.. Palestinians are suffering more through state-terrorism

P.S I piss on ronald reagans grave

No, I just stated what happens, you can view that bombings happen first then Isreal fights back or Isreal fights back and the Bombings happen, either way you look at it, IT IS WRONG!. Does fighting a wrong with a wrong = a solution? No

I can't stand either side here (Palestine and Isreal), they are simply narrow minded trying to protect their own selfless interests when a truce would save more lives being lost (which means both sides will have to give in, I know it's hard) but it won't end either way. No amount of your bitching will do anything about it, no amount of violence will solve it. Both sides are wrong and they need to solve the problem, so that the region can live in peace and future generations can raise their families in peace. That's not going to happen, neither side will give in or consider exchanging something for something else. Both sides will have to give in, feel free to rant on and on about how wrong a certain side is but it won't solve anything and that attitude is the reason why that their is still violence and strife among both sides, it is sad really. I view if the IRA and the British Government can put away 400 years of hate because they want future generations to live in peace and they can hammer out a peace agreement (fragile it may be but they still came together after all the murders and killings over the years, all the families torn apart on both sides). I view if they can do it, why can't palestine and isreal do it? because palestine and isreal are only concerned about their own self interests.

its more than just the black and white scenario you wrote here.

Its not that simple.. there are deep rooted causes as to why each side reacts as it does.

I cant get into everything.. but if you do a search.. you will be able to identify the direct and indirect arguments both sides has.

I was neutral like you.. but after seeing a noticeable discrepancy between sufferer and oppressor.. i began to argue for the human rights of the sufferer.. and in this case.. the palestinians (not exclusively though) are to be sympathized.

Iwont goon further.. its going to get the zionists labelling again

Posted by torontotrance on Aug-15-2004 05:46:

I know how deep the hate goes, I've read books about it but I think it's the best for the world and for both countries and for future generations. Yes, it's easy to say an agreement should be hammered out, I know the roots and problems from years past. I always think if the IRA and the Brit Gov't could do it, why can't others. I know each situation is difficult and unique but I'm tired of seeing the news of suicide bombings and Isreal hitting some house or killing some people. I just think the conflict is pointless and I pray every night that the situation will find a solution because it is better for everyone involved.

andy , a mod isn't supposed to provoque someone else by lying and accusing him of something he didn't do.

if you were a good christian as you've always been claiming it , you wouldn't have wrote the crap you posted in your first message in this thread.

lying is bad , that's the only advise i'll give you son
