Ear Cleaning

So I just got my ears cleaned out today because I was starting to hear this weird ringing noise... man, trance never sounded good after this. It was a whopping $200 to clean them out, but it's really amazing how clear everything sounds right now. hahaha- man, this thread is weird. im out.

U serious...how do they clean em?...for 200 bucks they must be hella clean!!

Posted by butterfly on Aug-16-2004 21:31:

did they use tat funny smoke method or the thing with the water? $200 seems like an awful lot. do you not have health insurance to cover that or something?

Posted by ricky on Aug-16-2004 21:32:

Oh yeah, it was a ear-water irrigation technique. I mean, I can hear everything now--- EVERYTHING.

/ no insurance.

My friend used them once. Does it feel good to get all that crap out? Thats why I would do it. Im anal about my ears. MUST be clean all the time. Hehe, I clean them out every day.

Posted by NiteMer on Aug-16-2004 23:09:

That seems pretty extreme. I just run water in them when I shower and then use q tips. Probably not the same effect, but sure is cheaper. I imagine that is pretty helpful for mixing though. You must hear glitches with a quickness now.

Posted by Radagast on Aug-16-2004 23:18:

I heard that you're not supposed to use qtips because they only push the earwax deeper into your ear...

Posted by NiteMer on Aug-16-2004 23:20:

I wonder if that's true or not. Sometimes they are effective sometimes not.

one of my friends that was going into the army or something close to that said they cleaned his ears with hydro-peroxide and a bit of water mixed...anybody heard about this before?

they put drops of that and youre supposed to hear a sizzle...telling u how its working, then a little lump of wax comes out...or something like that...

Posted by bassaholix on Aug-17-2004 00:05:

Tsk tsk tsk...

What have i been sayin to you all, look after yourselves, take vitamins, plenty of rest, everything in moderation, work hard, play harder.

Your ear problems can be fixed by having warm showers and rinse your ears our EVERYTIME you shower, some people might be suprised to learn what ear buds are, what shampoo is and what wonders soap or body wash does on our bodies.

Soap and body washes n shampoos and conditioners weren't made for the vain, they were made for hygiene.

Same goes with teeth, brush twice daily, morning and night, chew gum after lunch, use mouthwash.

Smart people learn from OTHERS mistakes, remember that....

Bassaholix...

Out...

Big Ears

WHAT?

Posted by Jiffy on Aug-17-2004 19:21:

I have a significant amount of hearing loss, due to listening to music entirely too loudly.

I thought it was just a blockage, but the doc said, "no".

Glad you got your problem taken care of.

Now, I just talk really loudly, and say, "huh?" alot.

Posted by malek on Aug-17-2004 19:33:

i heard that the wax is there for something and you're not supposed to remove all of it or that often...

anyone heard the same? or are you all deaf ?

Ive had my ears cleaned before from a doctor, they used a few drops of botanical oil, then sprayed water to remove it..this was during an infection, so yeah it didnt feel too good afterwards. Ive tried peroxide, heard the sizzle, and then nothing comes out, even when spraying water. Ive heard of the candles, but Ive never used them..I am not sure how safe they are, which makes me nervous about using them. And yes, qtips are not recommended because they do push the wax further back into your ear. But i wash mine everyday in the shower because I am also big on clean ears. hehe
