i dunno, that's all I was told

It's only a limited release because they're touring apparently, it's not out most other places for another few weeks.

Will be getting this.

Posted by torontotrance on Aug-28-2004 02:36:

I'll have an interview with them, up on ivibes.nu within the next 24 hrs.

So is this released yet? Does Canada get a release before Australia?!?! Booo!!

I'm seeing them in about 3 weeks so wouldn't mind getting it before then.

why isn't Do To You (In '82) on this?

Posted by [B-O-F-H] on Aug-29-2004 10:30:

Because Do To You was never intended to be on there. Its just a club track.

Rasta

torontotrance, cheers for enlightening us, we're lucky to have it released in Canada first, even over in Australia it's only being released at the end of September. I rang up my local HMV store, they don't have it yet, so I ordered me a copy, definately lookin forward to hearing it.

Posted by torontotrance on Sep-01-2004 04:00:

I think they want to test the Canadian market (the label does), that's probably why. We never get anything first and that's rare as heck. I'll probably buy it if the PR people that told me about this first don't send me the review copy. That's how I know, besides the quickie interview that I did with them on ivibes.nu.

Posted by [B-O-F-H] on Sep-01-2004 09:04:

It's out in Australia on September 20th, and early next year in the UK and US (where i suspect they will probably get extras to make up for the fact they had to wait).

Going to pick up my copy today, will be back with my opinion on it.

Posted by AlphaStarred on Sep-09-2004 19:29:

to be honest i'm not quite fond of most of these tracks...i've the sampler which comprises 'the careless kind,' 'love & imitation,' 'daylight hours,' and 'rattlewasp.' I thought i'd be pleased to hear some wicked prog. or breaks that Infusion are wont to produce but instead i hear productions which sound like alternative or rock instead of electronic...perchance it's just me

in any case, not to say i'm utterly displeased, just had more hopes and anticipation for this, which i certainly cannot imagine listening to or spinning at in a club.

The album is rather diverse, something no one would expect and that's no surprise. I did a bit of research before I purchased it, no I did not hear the "promo" version of it on mp3. Their recent interview caught my attention, so I knew that it wouldn't just be solid 4x4 progressive.

"We’ve made an album that we’re really of and we don’t think many people will be expecting what they hear."
We’ve really just tried to create the best music we could by working as a band and writing good songs and concentrating on making something very interesting to our ears by using all sorts of instrumentation.
We’re bringing that through and developing our own interpretations. So sure there is a bit of an eighties sound but there is also a classical influence and some straight down the line rock that we love. We've got really nice horn and string arrangements, 12 string guitars and all kinds of different instrumentation. On the whole it’s not really a club album as it’s quite song based.”

I can't be bothered to write a full review of each track though I will leave it up to someone else but just a note that it's definately not a dance album but sort of more chill out, rock, eighties as they described it themselves.

Thanks to torontotrance for interviewing the guys.

that was a quick Q and A, the next one I do with them will be in depth but they were on tour and I was limited to 8 questions and the PR lady lost 2 of them, don't ask me how.
