[Trance] Yarune - Horizons (Original) -- Full 256!!

Ok here we go again.

I said that the "Yarune" tracks were going to be more chill, but addicted to trance as I am, I made a trance track which actually is a bit in the Yarune style so far so I named it Yarune again. Horizons is the title of the song. Why? Cause this is what horizons sounds like, duh.

I did this in 14 hours or so, mostly yesterday. Result is good I think, I tried some new things. It's quite uplifting trance, have a listen

Yarune - Horizons (Original)
7:25 | 140 bpm | *256kbps* | 10,6 mb

Made with: FL 4.5.1, 3xOsc, SuperwaveP8, Hypersonic, Vanguard, samples, fx...

Enjoy.

****
EDIT:

Ok final (I hope ) changes have been made. I uploaded a 256 kbps version so you can all think of all the diskspace you lose when downloading this final....

This is very good tune, I like it a lot but you could add there more atmosphere, I think it is sometimes dry, I can imagine there more instruments, elements....but it is only my opinion...good work mate. Keep it up.

Thanks guys for comments.

@ BuRoLovesTrance: Yeah I guess you could be right, It's only 1 day of work and I was actually planning to get a good sound in a relatively short time But I guess that worked

Posted by Massive84 on Sep-19-2004 20:46:

hmm so many synths my head going all directions.*in a good way *

mix sounds very light, lacks a some low i think.

kick is nice, but bass could use the low i think, don't know.

synths are really nice, and the melody is quite huge, sounds maybe weird but very memorable.

bassline works good with the melody i like it.

very original tune, not the every days trance that is around here lately.

Sounds good, great deep kick. Percs are very good. Wow! That clap sounds very good! I only think it has too much reverb, maybe it even should have no reverb. Just a clean clap. Bass is very good, but not very deep, I like it when a bass is a bit deep. But not too deep Melody is ok, not very special, but it's ok.

Pretty good track I have to say. Nice.

Thanks Massive & Darkone. Appreciated big time!

The only thing this song lacks is a solid lowend. The absence of bass really bugs me but the rest of the mix is fantastic.

Posted by optik on Sep-19-2004 23:58:

starts nice and hard, good, well eq-ed bassdrum

you are mastering a little loud, and the hats are getting a bit of a crunch cause of this

good bassline - well produced percs.

the clap is a little dated imho, but I like the gated elements

bit of a strange drop at 2:05, a little uncomfortable.

melody is nice, there are some things I would change in it, make it go up when it goes down etc, but thats just subjective.

the persc need work in the main section, as they don't really help drive it along.

Like the bit at around 4:00 it's interesting, very remisniscent of a track I can't remeber the name of, but it works nice (and isn't a rip off)

nicely produced track overall

Ok few things fixed:

Added a subbass.
Mix cleared up.
Some minor buildup and synth bugs fixed.

Have a listen. Thanks.

Nice tune again here, love it after the first breakdown, that gated melody is superb Third stage of the tune is great as well, with that nice pad, it moves really well.
But I can't stand the first melody synth [1:22-], the brassy one. Imagine your song playing in a big room, with lots of messed up people wanting to dance their asses off. And then imagine in comes that little bitty brassy synthy ...

Posted by optik on Sep-21-2004 08:51:

good perc buildup - is there reverb on the bassdrum - cause it gets a little lost in the mix when the bassline comes in (bassline is still nice)

dissagree about the brassy sound (pho mo), it would be mixed over anyway

tis better mastered now

clap seems better =)

it has lost a little drive though (I think due to the sub-bass strangely)

4:00 is nice - as is 4:20

the mix seems a little too bass heavy - I'd do a +2-3db from 300-18000hz

(actually - when you do this even with winamps eq - all the drive comes back - do it ASAP!!!)

There is an extra oomph layer in the kick, i could make it a tad shorter, but I actually like the way the kick is. Maybe the bass has a little too much low end...
Made the clap some dryer.
I like the brassy sound actually.
I'll have a look at the subbass and bass, there's a little delay on it which could give some mud. It will be less wide but I think there will be more energy. Thanks for the advice guys!!

comments as i listen

nice kick.. pretty bassey and the short decayed hi-hats sound nice

upper bass thingy sounds nice.. comes in quite well with the main bass

bass sounds a little muddy/conflicting..

lead sounds nice..

it sort of lets you down at 2:45.. not what you where expecting and I dont really like what it does give..

pretty cool at 4:22.. but supersaws.. ugh.. thought trance has gotten post those...

the supersaw doesn't really sound good.. hardly has a melody and the EQing is sort of weird..

the EQing is good for most of the track (except the supersaw) but the entire track could use a bit of a boost from a final mix compression

Posted by J.L. on Sep-22-2004 23:04:

This sounds quite good, the kick starting from the beginning really has quite a bit of power and is quite driving... The bass is slightly overpowering the kick in my opinion though...

I am not too big of a fan of the EQing on the melody saw thing... I think it needs to have some more high-end presence so it sounds more massive and powerful. It is sounding a bit wishy washy to me..

However, the rest of the elements are very well produced... Breakdown is nice, all the synths fit well... The mix is clean for the most part, nice energy on it... good job mate
