(prog?)Sunquest-Daybreak(Massive Remix)

Hmm before i give the link, this has no outro because am wondering few things.

First i thought the intro is good and nice, but the second part seemed not to be flowing (maybe it's in my head, since it's all the same just few extra melodies on the beat)>

Also how does guitar sounds?, should i extend the main part? or just start building down, should i actually finish this?

ignore the extra synth at 5.49 don't think it fits, but i cba to export again, takes 30 mins ...tips are welcome or ideas, my cpu is red btw can't add alot of more things.

hmm not sure if you can hear the original back lol.

Hey m8.

Buy a new pc

Nice wobling fx over those percs. Could use some synthlayer over it, like a pad or so. But I guess that'll be hard.

Ok there are some nice sounds later, really like it so far! Great ambience. It all fits together. Dont know what synth you're talking about, cause it all sounds really nice.

Just give it a nice ending and it's finished. Maybe add some volume to the pads. Here and there some fx. Great chill proggy track, thumbs up!

yes everything builds really slowly, i love that tbh.

pads more volume? ok. thought i keep them as background.

I like it! ..but
Maybe u could add some more fx in the beggining of this song.
Maybe the guitar-sound could use some more work.
Otherwise, this is great tune! The overall is really good!

Good luck!

Posted by Massive84 on Sep-21-2004 04:04:

ok tnx , hmm the guitar could you describe what it need? like more volume or space? i feel it's not perfect either.

or is it just how it goes with the tune?

Posted by noikeee on Sep-21-2004 15:17:

i think there's something wrong with the percs, the offbeat hat that enters at like 2:55 annoys me a bit like it seems to clash or something, but except from that the track sounds pretty good, excellent atmosphere.

Posted by Massive84 on Sep-21-2004 19:38:

hmm the perc didn't bother me that much.

Ok i edited my first post.

Full tune with outro 256, 17mb file.

have fun. i quite like this.

sleep time.

Posted by Thunder5 on Sep-21-2004 21:28:

well, I've somehow managed to miss the original.

This is the stuff I like.

Really like the bassline. The guitar needs to be more upfront I think..

Posted by montana on Sep-21-2004 23:30:

this is nice, certainly in my taste, nice progression of the song and all, and yeah, great track, cheers

Posted by davidemonin on Sep-22-2004 08:15:

I like this. It is kinda minimal on the melodies but it is nicely done though. I'll play this

Posted by Vizay on Sep-22-2004 12:22:

ahhhh the offbeat hihat is offbeat frmo the offbeat, tighten it up

apart frmo that I really like the track, very nice and calm atmosphere. the only thing I really miss is stereopanning.

I can hear that you have instruments laid out to the rights and left and so on but it's very static. if your'e able to try to play around with the pannings and make some of the FX travel around frmo right to left and vice versa (listen to steve may - open day (Luke Chable remix) and you'll know what I mean with the pannings)

that track is the most panned track i've ever heard that still sounds pro like, at the extreme of being over-used

yeah I know, it's almost taken to a ridicilous level of panning in that track (that's why I picked it to show what I meant)

first time I listened to it in a pair of headphones I almost fell to the ground of dizzyness, pretty scary

ah ya i know what you mean, i did that mainly with the Shinsharaa fx work and sweeping string.

But you know automating and copy and pasting and grouping.. me = lazy hehe! !

but good note, where should i implement this which parts?

David thank you , but il upload a better version this week without this annoying hihat, i just have to do few things for my school, busy week, stupid Microscope course and biology

Posted by Mac on Sep-22-2004 15:50:

Great atmosphere in this one...enjoyed it. Good tune bro !

Posted by Vizay on Sep-22-2004 16:23:

well I think the best things to pan would be the FX

if youre using reason you don't have to do the regular automation
just connect a cable from a subtractor lfo to the pan CV on the mixer for the specific channel you want to pan, that way you'll get a more living and moving pan

and of course your computer wont be more stressed since the lfo is running wether you connect the cable to it or not so

It seems very chilled out to me, maybe almost too much so, but it's a nice relaxed track, reminds me of the sunny days that we aren't getting any more of up here
All the production sounds fine to me, nice perc effects and so on. Haven't got the chance to listen to it loudly and hear all the elements of it, but sounding good so far. Guitar could maybe stick out a bit more, not sure how you'd do it but I think it should dominate a bit more.

I've said it before though, that I always like your productions more than your remixes, they're always more memorable, but this is a nice effort

hey mate, lovely tune, digging the vibe. nice and relaxed.i agree on the offbeat hat. got nothing else to fault really will play it again good job

john

ps nice bitrate

First off, I like the echoey hats/hits that seem to bounce around the place... Adds good atmosphere and makes the track more interesting...

The bass, in my opinion, sounds a bit digital to me... and it would help if you could fatten it up a bit (layering or chorus?) while still maintaining it panned in the center

There are a lot of synth elements, and they all fit where they are supposed to fit..and keeps the song more interesting...

I have to admit, this is not exactly my style... (I usually like more energetic types of trance)... But I guess, I want to challenge you to try something new from your typical chilled style trance and try to produce something massive and energetic just for the sake of it...

Anyways, mint work, elements are well produced, percussion elements are quite atmospheric and adds a lot to the track while the synths continue to evolve and change... Great job mate

Posted by Massive84 on Sep-23-2004 04:28:

thanks everyone, i'll review your thing when i get back from school JL .

hehe, uhm i like to keep style change, though the original was uplifting asotish, i just wanted to see if i could make with the melodies something els .

Ya i'll try something like Furor soon, need a melody though...

anyway tnx

Posted by d-miurge on Sep-23-2004 18:06:

nice work, your sounds are still trancy, with great uplifting synth, try to add more prog house elements like a different kick or percussions, and your remix will be really wonderfull !

Posted by Romain on Sep-23-2004 19:04:

quality work, everything sounds clear... very pro
i like it
