Yes Armin Van Buuren 9 hour set at Air , Birmingham on the 29th of this month, anyone heard of , or going to ? i May go

Anyway, it's interesting to see "big-name" DJs do long sets like that. That's pretty amazing - I don't think I can LISTEN to music 9 hours straight, let alone MIX! What if he needs a pee break? Guess he'll have to do it in under 3 minutes. Or set a loop.

even if you dont like armin , how good would it be to see a dj (if you appreciate trance dj'ing) dj'ing for 9 hours straight ? pretty skillfull solid stuff, love to see how he programs this set!

and freezel, obv a dedicated fan, coming over from holland? good call!

It would be good dont think i cud listen to armin for nine hours but im not taking anything away from the fact he's doing it.Its pimps and whores night so the talent should be good.

im still undecided on AVB to be truthfull , many of his ASOT sets seem pretty mundane but then again ive heard really good sets of his at other times which arent bad at all, suppose it depends on the programming, please armin dont play "rock your body rock" it sounds so out place in the set its like hes just trying to sell the single hmmm

too bad he won't do anything like that in the States otherwise i'd be so down to go.

Actually loads can and loads do. And I don't consider just being able to play 9 hours worth of records means you are anything special, you have to be able to make those 9 hours worth of records flow nicely. The last 2 Armin solo's I attended he did not do this at all.

I would say that armin 'cant' do a nine hour set, because its just 9 hours of the same crap

whereas there are plenty of djs that can...

Dave Clarke, Danny Tenaglia, Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Chris Liebing, PvD, Laurent Garnier, Sasha, Carl Cox and so on...

they can do long sets, armin cant.

hes definately not worth 9 hours, hes a trance dj. No trance dj can play for 9 hours unless they have some sort of ability/interest in other genres. Armin does not, so you get 9 hours of wank trance. Some people will like this though and thats why those people are fools.
